Neat question. Do I believe in aliens? Not really until I see one. Do I believe in god? I'm a christian, but my beliefs aren't strong. I can't fully believe anything without seeing it with my own eyes.
As for thinking we're the only ones... I kinda doubt it. It gets me curious when I think about it, but eh... It's not something I'm completely obsessed with.
Think about it...
Outer space... How far does it go? If we're in a certain galaxy, there has to be other galaxies. In these other galaxies, are there intelligent beings such as ourselves? Is there even a limit to space? If there is, is it a big wall? Or is space a gigantic sphere in which if you continue to go straight, you'll actually end up traveling in a big circle.
A person can't be very religious and think about this... As I see it, religion basically says "God made us, we're the only beings."
Imagine, if intelligent lifeforms were found... What would happen to religion?
