I was wondering about the reincarnation of the kyuubi myself. Like you said he warned Sasuke not to kill Naruto or else he would make sasuke pay. But I didn't see the point in warning him if he would be released, cause isn't that what the kyuubi would want? Unless the Kyuubi would have some sort of master plan, but I don't see him as a great mastermind.
Maybe what the Kyuubi meant was, when Sasuke would try to kill Naruto, the Kyuubi would save Naruto with his chakra and then kill Sasuke (like in the fight between Naruto and Sasuke on the lake, where the kyuubi healed Naruto's wound by the chidori).
So that means the Kyuubi would die, unless for some reason he just doesn't want Naruto to die.
