Thats a merchants job. Since to buy or sell anything you have to go through a merchant, they will act as bankers. You wont be picking up coin from random monsters, just items to sell or use.
If theres a quest to find a certain treasure or something, they will get a badge or something. Just a tiny little pic to show you finished it, and you stick it in your profile. I'll keep track of those who made extra, but aside from that, its kinda hard to cheat with the money.
