I'm not an animal rights activist, but torturing simply out of "fun" is asinine and should be punishable. If not by law, I will take the matter of punishment into my own hands. If I was arrested for it? I'd love to go to trial and catch PETA's eye.
Animal testing? I'm for it... Simply because the animals being used for testing are raised specifically for that reason. It's not performed on the domesticated animals we all know and love.
Hell, I found a small fawn caught in my neighbor's barbed wire fence with it's ankle broken off. I cut it loose and brought it water. Yeah, my cousins are pretty screwed up people. They are all gang members, and if not for that, I might think of trying to beat their asses. But when there's 30-40 of them and their friends, and one of me, I'd rather leave them to rot in their humid little slum.
