This is stupid, they can't do that. Just because someone is watching something that is copyrighted online, doesn't mean they ment to watch it, they can't use it as evidence. To be perfectly honest companies should do more to stop their materials getting onto the web in the first place.
And they can't hand over personal information, it's illegal, they are bound by a legal obligation that you agree to when signing up to the website that they will not hand over any personal information to a third party source. Basically it's illegal. Defiantly under UK law anyway, and US isn't that different. In my expiriance US law is more lenient in these situations, look what happened with TV links.
