If you decide to go Mac because of the OS, you could install Leopard on a PC, but I'm sure it's buggy. If you don't have the time to fool around with trying to get everything to work on it, there wouldn't be any point. I know that Psystar sells PCs with Leopard installed, and you can configure the computer and the operating system to your liking. But I'm sure there are problems running Mac OSX on non-Apple hardware.
Still, if you want a Mac after considering everything, that's completely your choice to make and everyone should respect that. If you ever need to run anything with Windows, you could do it through Boot Camp or a virtual machine. On my Macbook, I have Windows XP Pro running through VMware Fusion, courtesy of Pirate Bay. I need to use Windows to transfer the voice files to my computer from my voice recorder that I use to record my professors' lectures, and the program that comes with the recorder to do that runs only on Windows.
