wow I like only one sword style so i can concentrate but I also do this because I add in some other martial arts to accompany my sword style. From time to time I will use two; also like you were saying kendo is too rigid. Also something I have tried (which was dumb but sounded cool at the time), I tried to copy Roronoa Zoro's Santōryū (literally: three sword style) where he hold one of the swords in his mouth, its a lot harder than it looks. Your neck has to be insanely strong to block, also to mention hopefully you have a padded handle on your practice sword or you run the risk of chipping your teeth. Yep but in the end it was cool to try, but at the end your neck is sore from slashing and blocking.
