In most cases I would agree with the point ur making, but in the case of anime, the internet helps it gain popularity outside of Japan, and increases its potential audience, as many ppl have already pointed out. I personally try to buy anime as often as I can afford to if I am a fan of the series (as do many other ppl), without the internet mayb I wud not b aware of all the series I enjoy and so I would never have bought them in the first place, how can that be a loss? They have actually gained buyers via the internet!
The main problem I hav with license holders is they realease episodes in buddle of 4-5 per DVD and charge around £20, thats a lot of money to pay out if u watching a 50+ episode series. Also I find the subs (especially dubs) and overall quality to be quite poor on comparrison to many fansub releases. Ill still buy anime when I can, but if they sorted that out ppl wud buy a lot more and they wud earn even more money!
