Anime Freak abbreviation guide for those curious people who don't wanna sound stupid.
Well, I know there are many people wondering about the abbreviations that anime freaks use and what they mean but are too scared to ask in risk of being called a n00blet, idiot, or stupid well here's a decent list,
Anime-Japanese Animation/Japanese Cartoon (Made in Japan)
Manga-Japanese Magazine
Promo-Anime Promotional Trailer (Preview for an upcoming anime or movie)
OVA-Original Video Animation, Short Anime/Short Retelling of a Previously Popular Anime, usually anime in its earliest form
ONA-Original Net Animation, used for things only meant to be on net, but now used for talking about OVAs as well from confusion
TV (The Ending on an anime name)-Animes that were originally only developed to be shown on TV , but somehow got online (Example: The main School Days that people have watched is actuactually School Days TV, there is also an ONA to it)
OTA- Anime Movies (I think) or maybe Original Televised Animation?
Sub-Subtitles(Words at the bottom of animes for what's being said)
Dub-Audio(Speaking)
Eng-English
Jap-Japanese
Eng Dub-English Speaking Audio
Jap Dub-Japanese Speaking Audio (rarely used)
RAW-Japanese Dub without Subtitles
Cart/Cartoon-English Animation (Made in UK/US/England)
Fr Anime-French Anime (Code Lyoko is a great example) (rarely used)
Trailer-Another Word for Anime Promotional Trailer (Preview for an upcoming anime or movie)
Prev-Preview (usually meaning preview for the next episode)
DB-Dattebayo Subs
RD-Release Date
AMV-Anime Music Video (Clips from Anime edited together by a fan with a song of there choice playing)
GMV-Game Music Video (Clips from Game edited together by a fan with a song of there choice playing)
DMV-Drama Music Video (Clips from Drama edited together by a fan with a song of there choice playing)
Op/Op Song-Anime Opening Song
Ed/Ed Song-Anime Ending Song
OST-Anime Official Sound Track
Ep-Episode
G/O-Game Over (rarely used) Explanation: When used it means death most of the time
Yuri-Anime Girl on Girl Love
