Tales of Symphonia
Once upon a time, there existed a giant tree that was the source of all mana. A war, however, caused this tree to wither away, and a hero's life was sacrificed in order to take its place. Grieving over the loss, the goddess disappeared unto the heavens. The goddess left the angels with this edict:
"You must wake me, for if I should sleep, the world shall be destroyed."
The angels the Chosen One, who headed towards the tower that reached up unto the heavens. And that marked the beginning of the regeneration of the world.
That was an ancient time. But now, the time has come again for the new Chosen to make her journey. Accompanying her is a band of unlikely heroes.
Lloyd Irving, her childhood friend and a master of dual-sword weaponry.
Genis Sage, her other childhood friend, a half-elf and magic user.
Raine Sage, her teacher and an archaeological nutcase.
Kratos Aurion, a wandering mercenary and swordsman extraordinaire.
This group shall travel the world, releasing seals as they go, until they reach the Tower of Salvation so the World Regeneration can occur. But something's not right...To regenerate the world, Collete Brunel, the Chosen One, must sacrifice something that makes her human. In the end, she gives up something all people should treasure above life itself...Deceit follows the group through their adventure. It's impossible to know who to trust in this beautiful anime.
Based on the manga and adapted into a video game for the PS2 and Gamecube, Tales of Symphonia chronicles the journey of the Chosen and her friends on their trip to regenerate the world. With only 4 episodes, the last words are:
"End here Sylvarant. Begin here Tethe`alla."
It is speculated that there is a sequel in production. Watch Tales of Symphonia, and pick up your copy of the highly acclaimed, easy-to-pick-up, difficult-to-master, impossible-to-put-down video game for the PS2 or Nintendo Gamecube! Trust me when I say "You won't want to miss this!"
"It has begun...The journey to World Regeneration."

Woah, so this was originally a Manga, but then it was an anime, and then it was a Video game? Awesome! I own the video game and I think it has an awesome story (I <3 Mithos!) but I had no idea about the manga and anime.... Since it was apart of the Tales series. Are all of the Tales series originally mangas/animes/what not? Cuz' if it is I have already fallen in love with Tales of the Abyss all over again!

There is also Tales of Phantasia OVA which follows a similiar story to the SNES > GBA remake.

Actually the game came first, then the Manga (that I personally think did a really good job of getting rid of things that work in games, but not in mangas) And then the OVA.
I wasn't a big fan of the OVA, for starters Yuan (*Yum*) was so not very cool as he is in the game. And all the plot twists sort of revel themselves when they should be happening much later on!!
