Alice...A woman more beautiful than any flower, without sin, cruelty, or a touch of impurity...We were created by father to become Alice...to make father happy.
The Alice Game...a battle that rages between me and my sisters. If one of us loses the game, we become junk...No doll wants to become junk...
The Rozen Maiden, dolls created by the legendary, master dollmaker Rozen. These dolls are different in that they speak, think, and move freely. They each wield different powers, and each has an artificial spirit. When one of them loses the Alice Game, they must give up their Rosa Mystica, the thing that powers them and lets them live. In total there are 5 Rozen Maiden.
The 5th doll of the Rozen Maiden, Shinku, comes to the aid of a human boy named Jun, who stays at home all day and never comes out of the house. She tells him of the Alice Game and of her goal; to become Alice and be able to see her father, Rozen, once more. Shinku's nemesis, her older sister, Suigin Tou, hates all but herself. She is an unfinished doll. Because of this, she's always trtying to exact revenge of Shinku, whom she sees as the wicked witch who stole everything from her. The stage is set for the greatest war the world will never see. Shinku and her other sisters, Hina-Ichigo, Suisei Seki, and Sousei Seki, band together to protect one another.
The time is now...We are Rozen Maiden, father's greatest creations...I will not become junk...I will destroy you all, sisters or not!
The Alice Game has begun. Welcome to a doll's world.
