Princess mononoke (movie)
Plot:
Ashitaka saves his village from an assault by killing the demon form of the boar god Nago. During the fight, Ashitaka receives a demon mark on his right arm, and he is cursed by the Boar God's hatred and pain. Ashitaka is told that the mark will spread throughout his body, killing him. A ball of iron is found inside Nago's corpse, which is somehow connected to the curse. Ashitaka resolves to journey to Nago's origin, the lands to the West, to try and find a cure for his curse. He cuts his hair, signifying his permanent departure from his village, and rides out with his steed Yakul, his loyal red elk. Since it was considered taboo to see off one who is banished, only one person dared to say goodbye to Ashitaka: his 'little sister,' Kaya actually his bride-to-be; calling herself his 'little sister' was a term of affection, who gives him her crystal dagger so that he would not forget her.
Having traveled some distance, Ashitaka arrives in a forest full of animal gods, including the wolf god Moro. Also in the forest is the Forest Spirit, described as a "god of life and death", which takes the form of a deer during the day and a "night-walker" at night. The forest lies beside a human settlement called Irontown which clears the forest to get to more iron ore, causing many battles as the animals attempt to protect their forest. It was during one of these battles that Irontown's leader, Lady Eboshi Gozen, shot Nago. Ashitaka, though, believes that the humans and animals can get along peacefully and this lands him squarely in the middle of the conflict.
My review: This was one of the first real type anime i ever watched. And I was amazed. This is a great movie. Great plot, and awesome characters. Each unique in their own way. there are also lots of suprises, this movie has action, comedy, drama,.While the story seems like a simple tale of humankind versus nature, there are many layers which complicate things. For starters, there are no outright evil people in this tale. Even Lady Eboshi, the ruler of Irontown and person most responsible for the destruction of the forest, is quite compassionate when it comes to other humans. She takes in lepers and women from brothels and gives them a place a work and live. There's also Jigo, who, while being quite self-centered, still exhibits very human traits and even helps out Ashitaka in the early goings. And, of course, I mustn't forget San, whose relentless drive to protect the forest leads her into deadly conflict with the humans. Yet, while she is an enemy of the humans, her intent is merely to save her own homeland. . its a must see
i give it a 10/10.

i give it a 10/10
best anime movie there is, hands down.
its mainly about the coexistance of humans and nature.
miyazaki's true essence is in this. great film.
if you liked this, check out miyazaki's "nausica of the valley of the wind"
to me, its basically the different version of princess mononoke. similiar concept, different story.
Critique:
-that was more of a introduction then a plot.
-your review isnt very indept
-talk about what makes it great
-maybe talk about how it affected you, or how it inspired you.
-make your reviews more indepth

Good movie, but it may be hard to follow the first time you see it.
If I did a full review, I would say 9/10.

This man speaks nothing but the truth. One of the best movies ( not just animes ) of all time and my second favorite Miyazaki film ( Number 1 being Spirited Away. I dare you to watch that and not have the expression of a fascinated 7 year old )

I've never had the desire to see this movie, but I enjoyed Spirited Away very much. If it's by the same people, and if you liked both that much, I'll need to go watch it. Hahaha, a comment on Blizz's review gets me to want to watch the movie he's reviewing. How funny.

lolz, I saw this movie when i was about 9 and didn't really get it at the time. But since i've never seen any other ones of the Miyazaki movies, i can't say which is the best,....but this was a great movie the second time i saw it.

This is one of my favorites by Miyazaki. "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" & "Howl's Moving Castle" are amazing ones as well. I like all of his movies actually. He is extremely talented.

Yeah, I just finished this movie, it was pretty good. I'll have to check out those two you mentioned now, Aracelais. I don't overly care for the art style, and the movies are quite weird, but I like them. They have good plots and strong characters, decent action, etc.
