Neon Genesis Evangelion

At the dawn of the new century, mankind has awakened a threat unlike any faced before; the Angels, fearsome beings bent on the annihilation of all human life! Conventional weapons are no match for them. Man's only hope lays in the hands of three young pilots and their bioengineered, giant robots known as Evangelion.

The Human Instrumentality Project. A project designed to help individual humans realize their self-worth. So far, the project is behind schedule...

The story of Evangelion takes place in the year 2015, 15 years after a disaster known as the Second Impact. This catastrophe took the form of an asteroid slamming into Earth, melting Antarctica and raising the sea levels tremendously, swallowing the world in water, so that very few countries still exist. That's the story the government told, but what really happened 15 years ago?

Shinji Ikari has arrived in Neo Tokyo-3. He is quickly taken to an underground city, where he becomes the third pilot, the "Third Child". His Evangelion is known as Unit 01. With this, he succeeds in saving Neo-Tokyo for the day.

But the Angels, fearlessly and without hesitation, continue to come. NERV, the organization who built the Evangelion, receives Eva Unit 02 from Germany, along with the designated pilot of said Eva. Things are beginning to look up when everything goes down hill. Unit 02's pilot goes insane, as well as into a coma. With the pilot of Eva Unit 00 defeated by many Angels already, Shinji is left to defend NERV and the world from the Angels on his own. His succession, however, may bring about the end of the world.

Humanity's fate rest on his shoulders. And all you can do is watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, where not everything is as it seems. This action packed anime will have you cheering as Shinji battles himself, those around him, and ultimately, the Angel threat. Filled with comedy and fanservice, make sure you don't laugh or drool too much!

Well, I know I'll probably be massacered for this, but I didn't think Evangelion was that great. The art was pretty good, and I like the idea of a giant Lance of Longinus (you guys know that's the spear that supposedly pierced the side of christ, right?) and the story over all wasn't too bad either. However, I just couldn't identify with the characters like I can/do in other series. Plus, I have to say that the ending just made no sense...and the movies, which were supposed to add/help explain the end just made stuff more confusing in my opinion.

That's what haappened...But umm...Try to keep your stuff in spoilers, k? Be careful, cause some people haven't watched it.

Also, the movies, End of Evangelion in particular, was supposed to replace the original last two episodes, because Ano, the guy who made it, got lots of death threats when he finished it, so he remade a new movie!
