Blood+

Synopsis: A young girl, Saya, is not completely normal. Although she is a happy person, she has no memories of the past. Gradually her memories return to her as she returns to where she used to live. Her acquaintance Haji, and many others accompany her through her journey on finding her lost self and hunting down the Chiropteran.

Main Review: This anime was great. It starts off with a girl who can't remember about her past, but she remembers gradually of the things she did. The horrible things she did. An organization called Red Shield is a group of men and woman who lost loved ones to these monsters called Chiropterans, and are working hard to get revenge.These monsters change their form, hide among humans and feed off of their blood. Saya's blood is a poison to these creatures, and so she makes a vow to exterminate all of these monsters because she lost her father to them. The way the characters and environment are drawn, is not amazing, but the story and character development make up for that. I really enjoyed this anime, it was really well thought out and always kept you on your toes. It's got a bunch of scenes with lots of blood and gore. Also there are kind of some mushy scenes too. The combination of those two were what really kept me watching. I would give this anime an overall rating of 9/10. I say 9 because if they put a TAD more detail in the characters and environment, it would have made it a hell lot more fun to watch. But regardless, it was a great story. There are alot of unpredictable scenes, and even sometimes you'll be like WTF? I know I reacted that way. BUT! bottom line, this is definately worth watching. SO WATCH!

I'm going to leave out the characters because I kind of think it'll spoil the anime.

well i watched Blood+ like ages ago and it's indeed a good anime, so i recommend this for everyone a must watch!

Watched it. Loved it. The only problem is there was only 50 episodes.

I agree it's worth watching. The only thing for me is there's such a vast difference in the pacing of difference scenes in the show that the show is almost at odds with itself. In normal schoolgirl Saya's life are some very very slow scenes about Saya's family life and her struggle to overcome her weaknesses and find her place in the world as a woman. This kind of pacing can extend for several episodes in length without much real conflict--or at least it seemed that way when I watched it. In the scenes where Saya is a red-eyed, sword-wielding killer, the pacing is very fast, with high octane sword fights, decapitation of monsters, gory murders and generally a lot of life or death situations. For somebody who finds the drama of Saya's family life interesting, the fast paced scenes are likely to seem very gory and at odds with the placidness of the rest of the story. For somebody who likes the red-eyed Saya best, the slow scenes are likely to seem really slow. I fall into the latter category and personally I was bored out of my mind by more than a few episodes of Blood+. I view Riku and Kai more as obstacles for the show than as integral parts of Saya's life drama. That said, I still think the show is still worth suffering through the slow parts (if you're like me) to get to the awesome parts because the slow parts do add meaning to the fight scenes anyway and the overall story is quite good.

I liked the anime it was good and really bloody lol did anyone see the movie it wwas based off of Blood:The last Vampire lewis had a afro in it XD

@ lulu: yeah i did.. (lewis was so young lol).

At first i thought the david in the movie was david's ( in the series) father.
but since you said lewis... i guess that david must be the same from the one in the anime.

btw, to everyone out there who hasn't seen that anime... ur missing a whole bunch.
thats one of my favorite anime and is one of the best. IMO everyone should see it enjoy !

Blood+ was the best. Just hated what happened at the end & also what happened to the shiff(If I remember correctly thats what their called).
