Cardcaptor Sakura
The longest anime I've ever finished, with 70 episodes, 2 movies, and a little short (small show) at the end of the second film.
Taking place in the fictional town of Tomoeda, Japan, Cardcaptor Sakura was made in a slightly different style than most. Usually, a series with separate pieces of the story is split into things called sagas, or seasons. Each part is distinct and is never truly associated with the previous season. Characters from one season usually don't show up in the next one.
In Cardcaptor Sakura, things are a bit different. The series is made of what are known as the arcs. There is the first arc, which contains the first movie, which takes place between episodes 35 and 36. This arc is made of episodes 1 through 40 something, and chronicles Sakura's capture of the infamous Clow Cards, as well as her Final Judgement.
The Second Arc, known usually as the 'Master of the Cards' or 'Sakura' arc, goes through her attempt to transform the Clow Cards into Sakura Cards, and also deals with the feelings between herself and one of her friends. The second movie, known as 'Cardcaptor Sakura: The Sealed Card', takes place after the end of the series.
And now, if you please...The rest of the story.
Kinomoto Sakura is a 10 year old 4th grade girl at Tomoeda Elementary School. She lives with her father, who is a professor of archaeology, and her older brother (Toya), who finds odd jobs that always seem to land him in the places she goes to during the series. Toya, though he picks on Sakura at every given moment, seems to have a knack for trying his hardest to protect her if he can. Their mother died when Sakura was three
Sakura comes home from school one day to find that her dad and brother aren't home. She hears noises from her father's basement library. When she goes to check it out, she finds a book titled 'The Clow'. When Sakura touches the book, the seal on it opens up, and she accidentally lets loose 52 magical cards known as Clow Cards. A stuffed animal claiming to be the Guardian Beast of the book dubs her a Cardcaptor, and Sakura's journey begins.
It's no hurry to capture all of the cards, which seem to have spread all across the country. However, the beast, whom Sakura calls Kero (Kero-chan), tells Sakura that if she fails in the task, a catastrophe will happen. He never says what, but at the end of the First Arc, we are shown a glimpse of it; Everyone, everywhere, forgetting all their feelings and memories of the people whom they care the most about in the entire world.
When things start to get tough, a strange Chinese boy (Shaoran Li, last name sometimes read Syaoran) appears. With his ceremonial sword and magic tags, he competes with Sakura over both the collection of the Cards, and the heart of Tsukishiro Yukito, best friend of Sakura's older brother. To top it all off, Sakura's best friend, Daidoji Tomoyo, likes to tag along on capture missions and film everything, as well as dress up Sakura in sometimes ridiculous, but otherwise neat costumes.
The First Arc ends with the capture of the final card, and the Final Judgement, performed by the second guardian, Yue. Sakura completes the Judgement and is declared the Master of the Clow Cards.
The Second Arc begins possibly a few weeks or so afterward. Sakura's life is back on track, but something isn't right. Strange events occur all over town. In order to use her magic to stop the events when they show up, Sakura is forced to transform her Clow Cards into Sakura Cards, which bear the symbol of the power of the Stars, the power that Sakura wields.
Soon, a new student comes to class, Hiisagawa Eriol. But this boy holds a dark secret from Sakura that he reveals only at the end of the series.
Cardcaptor Sakura is a cute show with little twists and jerks here and there just to keep you guessing. I suggest you watch the whole series, as well as the two movies. Both are amazingly well done, and I think anyone could get to like them.

Each card possesses a power of its own.
We've got to find them and bring the power home.
Side note: DO NOT WATCH DUB! IT IS JUST SUBBED AFTER ASSRAPING!
Seriously, they edited relationships, names, all kinds of stuff..>They even took one episode out. Watching the dub version is like going to the doctor when you know you'll be dead in 5 minutes. Waste of your time!
