I think this is my second review, so enjoy. I watched the entire Initial D series, and this the first one seems to stick. Initial D has been addiction in Japan, selling so many Manga and Anime.
Story: The story of Initial D is pretty straight forward. Takumi Fujiwara is a high school kid that does not know a thing about cars. However, Takumi has been driving his 8-6 at night to help his father deliver tofu. Goes to school and works at a gas station with his friends. Until one day a team comes up to challenge the street racing team on Mount Akina's. The top driver screws up and crashes and begs Takumi's father to race after hearing he was a top street racer once. However, instead Takumi's father sends Takumi to race and beats the team. The whole story kicks off from there to where teams go and challenge Takumi after he beat the number one team in the district.
Animation: The animation is a new idea to the anime world in my opinion. Adding CGI to the racing makes the racing seem so much more realistic than other anime. The drawings for the characters detailed, and done to perfection.
Character: The characters are very well done. Takumi hates racing and car in general, but he is a brilliant racer due to his fathers guidance. The other characters help support him well, and each character has there own story line of why they help Takumi and want him to race for them.
Enjoyment: I have to say this first season of Initial D is enjoyable. Even if you are not really interested in cars, it has eye catching things that can make head turns and people talk. I really enjoyed this anime and I hope everyone else will to. I think I have watched this anime about 4 times, each time something new jumps out.
My Final Ranking: 10/10
