Someone posted this in another forum. It's a major tl;dr, but it's quite interesting.

basically it's saying how we might be just 2D images being projected as 3D images because of light and that we live in a hologram, or something along those lines. Quite trippy.

What do you guys think?

A theory is an idea that can be proven, but why it works is unknown.

The theory of relativity is a theory because we know it works, we know it's there, but we don't know why it works, or if it will continue working as science evolves.

Exactly this. This hologram business is just another way of saying the same thing, although it is kinda interesting. "Reality" is just what we pereceive it to be. One persons reality may differ from anothers. In the end what we see may just be "smoke and mirrors"......or holograms lol.

The idea that we could just be 2 dimensional is kinda cool, we just percieve a third dimension! Headfuck.

This type of philosophy is very elementary. Try and prove it with science all you want, but stoners think of this exact same shit all the time.

First of all, don't you dare call me closed minded. I'm willing to learn from all opinions and argue philosophy; this is why I'm here.

Secondly, I know it shouldn't be discredited, what I'm saying is that this idea has been thought of time and time again with sometimes slight variations. This philosophy doesn't impress me because it's something I myself have thought over many many times...when I was in grade 8.

lol fine whatever just dont go taking shots at stoners, im not looking for a war but I wont accept that. I Think most ppl have thought about this concecpt (well, not holograms exactly) since they were kids but it doesnt mae it any less profound a theory. Its simple yet complex hence why people are still thinking this over even today.

Ill take back my remark about u being closed minded just dont take shots at stoners mmkay.
