Tagging

Do you think it should be illegal? and by tagging i mean graffiti. I don't think it should be its a way of art. expressed in a different matter. I mean i know its vandalism but they all look so awesome. Honestly i would really like to learn how to tag then you would see blizzard all over the streets XD. your opinions?

Graffiti is indeeda work of art when theres a thought behind it ^^
I think its really nice to walk down the street and look at all the graffiti

Its like going to an artshow with ghetto paintings ^^

But i hate when the creator just sprays something for the fun of it and it is just like an ugly mark on the wall

You know, like just spraying "fuck" in no special manner. That is the vandalism part of it, according to me

grafitti looks AWESOME. though i think they shouldn't been done, like everywhere, or yeah, pointless shit like umm Jing was here and stuff,

Yeah, I agree that it can be a work of art. I enjoy most of it as well. It stops being a work of art when it reads profanity. Although, seeing as the people that do the graffiti do not own the buildings, train cars, etc I see why the real owners would be upset.

The only reason it's illegal is because it's vandalism. If it isn't being done in a way that is destroying property, like doing it on a poster board that you bought yourself, it isn't considered graffiti.

Yeah man, i do think graffiti can definately look absolutely awsome if someones actually puts sum time & effort into it, what i hate is the nasty little scribbles that ppl leave around wen they havnt got anything interesting to say, although i suppose its just their way of leaving their mark & saying "i was here!" quite liturally, most of the time X

I agree with that. If may be fine if the owner of what is being tagged condones it, but if someone spray paints a mural of people using drugs, flashing gang signs, and having sex all across the front of a preschool I might have a problem with it. I'd also have a problem if my house, car, or dog was tagged without my permission. If I saw someone tagging up my house while I was returning home, I might slam my car into him and drag him in the house to give him a good beating and possibly help him meet the creator. We all have to ascend some time.

I dont think tagging is great because you always see markings everywhere you go. Even thought its a form of art they should get permission to maybe tag a wall for the community. But if you keep on seeing graffiti everywhere you will sort of think your in a ghetto area.

I don't see anything all that great from tagging really. Looks good and all, and I wouldn't mind expressful art or stuff like that, but as said before I don't want to say "LOL I WUZ HERE!" in flashy colors either.

The thing about Graffiti/tagging is that its everywhere now, and most of it is just crap sprawled across walls by bored fools. But occassionaly U will come across a real gem, where someone has genuinley had something thought-provoking to say/point out. That, to me, is worthy of being called art, the rest is just vandalism.Perhaps there should be a license for those who genuinley are about the art.

dude i agree with you 100% back in the old days graffiti was just for pure art
now its mainly gang signs etc...

Everytime I go in the city all I see is graffiti it gets quite irritating after a while so I rather not have graffiti or tagging anywhere except if its allowed.

Well its not really irritating cause I don't really notice it unless its something i like.
