Default people people

dont worrie ok seriously. even if they have your ip they cant do anything with it honestly. all they are going to be finding out is how many people have watched stuff that relates to there programmes and see how much of a bill youtube owe them so dont worrie. but i tell you this still dont hand out your ip addresses because you can use them to get into peoples pcs via telnet port and such on ok so still be careful.

Them having your I.P. address means A LOT actually.

It's not the fact they're finding stuff out because of a problem they want to solve.

It's the fact that they're forcing google to hand over EVERYONES computer I.P. address without our own consent because Viacom is pissy about something that is of their own problem.

Smile =p

it anit that much all they are going to do is count up the ip addresses to find out the number of views too viacom products and such on. by the way it anit youtube there badgering its google just thought i would let ya know on that one. its a problem yes thats if you watch naughty things when i say naughty things i think you know what i mean like the type of things that will get ya locked up for 5 years. but thats if they trace you back to what you have watched. but the sole interest is what i said before. but also it matters what your wanting to use this i.p for? but like i said it anit that important as you think honestly. people make it out that ip are the sorce of all evil that can happen to your pc. if your safe with it then you should be ok but think what can viacom do with your ip? if they started hacking us and crap dont you think every person with the internet would sue them?

wait sorry you put google sorry. miss the youtube mark out.

People over the internet are getting mad because they are being deprived of privacy, that is the whole deal.

Basically the judge allowed "private" information to be taken against our own consent ~last post.~

That is the big deal.

Viacom knows even if they do have the IP addresses I highly doubt they will do anything with them. Because after that then tons of people would be pissed and viacom would go down big time, worse than what's going on now.

Man, I remember how useless IPs were for the RIAA, and I think that about sums up the whole point of why this is a real problem.

It looks like Viacom has finally decided not to require personal information of Youtube users.
