Religion: Decide just what you believe

In the world nowadays, politics and religion are the world's biggest sources of mass murder. Religion is probably the biggest though.

People kill each other for the sole reason of "My god told me to do it." That's the stupidest crap I've ever heard.

What if, out of nowhere, a new religion popped up, taking the best of all religions and combining them into a truly peaceful, harmless, harmonic existence? What would this religion be called?...Probably something like Amaranthism, perhaps? "Eternalism", maybe?

What are the best things about religions anyway? The Christian "Ten Commandments" propose that "thou shalt not kill". Yet, what do you see? Christians murdering thousands of people. Even worse, some priests go as far as raping and molesting children! I mean, come on, man! What kind of sick son of a bitch does that kind of shit, huh?!

If religion were not here, what would become of our world? What would happen to us? Would we lose our faith in a higher being...Would we lose faith in ourselves?

I, for one, hold my faith in what most people would call "a figment of [my] imagination"...But what do you say about a God who doesn't touchdown on earth to save the pour souls who are raped, molested, or murdered by "good, loving, faithful Christians"? How can you place your faith in someone who doesn't even dare show up to help people in their time of need? I, for one, would rather have faith in a blind, one-legged dragon that probably doesn't even exist, then hold it in this "God" of the Christian and Catholic faiths...I'd rather die than trust someone like that...

I actually take offense to ur Christian comment, u said the priest do it, as if its there religion telling them to, that really unfair to my religion.
There are weirdos in every walk of life. please do not suggest that its to do with there religion, even though sometimes it actually is. Second the 10 commandments i think are a great law to base life apon (i mean there friendly to other humans and thats good in my view) But people fail to follow them. My religion never asked they people to go kill thousands.

In conclusion, Humans are the cause of most problems, not religion, not government...actual single minded people (although religion and government are factors, they are not the direct causes)

Really, my problem with Christians in particular is that I have a lot of Christian friends and family, so I get very tempted to blow my top when they say something like "God bless you", or "God did it for a reason". It pisses me off how humans can be so passive about things, and just let them off as "God doing it for his own reasons."

Humans make me sick...That's why I don't like humans, God, or Satan...They all disgust me, all power-hungry beings disgust me...Don't take any of this to heart. It's just that every time I see a human committing an atrocity, I look at the victim and think "Where's your God now?"

You know people can become religious because they need something to believe in to hope for for them to function right.

A human needs some form of dream to keep them going.

Leave people to believe in there religion, they already know the facts and they have made up their mind. They ll eventually decide to change if its not working for them.

and god bless u is just a generic phrase for when someone snezzes now, if u get annoyed by that then u have a problem.

second u obviously do like humans or ud be a hermit. What if u get a gf ?
If someone in ur family dies does it matter to u, baring in mind there human....please stop making vague terms such as u hate humans.

All in all most if not all religion's has caused some major "bad things" to happen and what you think and I think is comepltly different but all that could be hold accountable for many things.

But if I was say an atheist and say someone else is my christian friend and Im apprently going to hell cause I didnt believe in god well that kinda ...sucks for the lack of another word. If anyone of my friends was going to hell I would say hell no religion your not the right one for me but hey thats just me. Hell I wouldnt want them to convert me or anything just that if i believed im going to heaven and my friends woudlnt be there well thats not exactly heaven.

Oh and another thing that kinda ticks me off im not sure if this is just what I imagine as a Christian or what but the fact that they can pick and choose what they want from the bible is just ludricous and say that you cant go against that then go and tell me that a part lets say the part which says you can sell your daughter is a part you dont do well how about I choose to say the bible is just a book written ages ago and it shouldnt really be something you look up to.

and no I really dont think people need religion they just cant handle that what I believe is fact that is if you die thats it dont do stuff cause the bible tells you to do it "do it cause you know its right" unless you think killing peoples right then...well then do the reverse of that. and no I really dont think i needed the bible to tell me killing other people is wrong. I dont know what you call it but its just an instinct.

Also brings the meaning Live life to its fullest cause theres only one absoutle that everyone must die who knows why thats just it so dont be a tard.

What is all this hate twords Christians ? It sounds more like personal vendetta to me, and last I checked Christians are not the ones who actually have there prophet and bible saying to take a sword against people who don't believe in your way and slay them as well as many more I could get a nice little list of quotes if you'd like.

My Opinion in Religion generally is : Believe what you want to believe, as long as it doest affect me, im happy.

But coming back to Alths first point, a Majority of Faiths have commandments simular to the 'ten commandments', But Christianity for one, also preaches when the Religion itself is under threat that killing other faiths is a path to heaven, Hence the Crusades.

Generally speaking, Humans arnt the nicest of living beings, becuase of our natural itelligence and fragile minds being able to be influenced really quickly, obviously things are going to turn out different. But you cant catagorise 'Humans' of being bad, but like i said only a small percentage act like that (Molesting ect).

Becuase im a Christian, as i was baptised (Anglican - Church of England), i obviously would take offence to some of the things you've said, but in the end of the day, you believe what you want to, and i to myself.

This is a pretty interesting conversation? No? ^^
