Don't you just hate political correctness, i meant so you don't offend anyone but does it really work? (warning i may go off on a rant)

for example 2 weeks ago as i saw a few of my friends for the last time before christmass, i wished them a merry christmass and was dragged into an argument as i had offended a girl because she doesn'y practice christmass, now i know its politically correct to say happy holidays but why is it not politically uncorrect when someone says they are offended by the events that i practice in my religion? i mean isn't that in its self offensive ?

second: You are not supposed to call spam spam anymore as, it offends the people who eat spam.
does that mean u can't say to someone there talking ballony incase they eat it and it offends them ?
or saying somone is crackers ?

I must say thou the most annoying is being told i cant say its dark outside, or not being able to say 'them' as it implys theres a higher controlling power other then government.

but i do understand what i should be able to say without offending people and what i can't say, so why do i need to be told by politicians i can't say these stupid things i mean my god if there gonna do it, do it properly, for example a surrender flag can no longer be white, black, yellow or any colour as it may offend people, so instead they must all be transparent.

sorry my grammer seems to go and disappear throught this, and please share your views on this i love to hear other peoples opinnions (unless they think that democracy means the minority wins then ya can just go take a run and jump naaa j/k j/k, all opinions welcome)

Eh. I think that political correctness is just a crutch for people who are too sensitive to real world issues, i personally find political correctness more insulting than whatever it is being used to mask. To me it just shouts "HEY, You're to much of a pansy to be able to know what i really think. "

Think thats bad, shopping malls here in Australia are sacking Santa's for saying their trademark "Ho-Ho-Ho" as it could be derogatory towards women. I think this is so stupid, its been a Christmas tradition for almost ever for Santa to say that, instead of the traditional "Ho-Ho-Ho" shopping malls are advising the Sanats to do a gentle laugh instead otherwise be prepared to get fired. Talk about being the Grinch.

For any body to be offended by a religeon is ignorances on they're part. I'm don't beleave in "God" yet I still find how people can pratice religeon to be beatiful, (please don't talk to me about "God" your most likely going to end up offended) yet I don't agree with it for my own personal reasons.

The Fact is, its pointless and Pathetic.

Just because the Nursery rhyme states that the colour of a skin of a sheep is black... Society thinks its morally wrong to keep it, as it contains racial (to society's eye) insight.


I tell you a little story, ..
This is complete fact which occurred in my school (English Comprehensive school - Public)

There were two kids of the same ages in a science class, they were on the discussion about how people are stereotyped, (about a group of 5-6 were discussing), and a white male said to a 'member of a different minority' was Black, and which he was. And instantly the 'Black' Kid started too lash out, and effectively broke it to a fight.
Typically, the small white boy was giving a notice in the school database for 'Racial Abuse'.


and yet again... Observation people...
a black person is black
a white person is white
mixed race is mixed race..
To call someone one of these terms is mere common sense... a observation...

By now i hope you know what im getting at hahaha ^^



Summary:
Political Correctness is effectively the dumbing down of society.
It stupid ^^

Well that does make sence. I don't agree with the him lashing out at the other kid there was no need after all it is only a word to decribe a person. Yet... If he was "Black" as many people say we wouldn't be able to see him, no? The fact is that the term black isn't correct in anyway.
There is a better way to describe that boy. I belave the term is african american, or atleast say his brown, after all caucasins aren't white they're pink and african americans aren't black they're brown.
I personaly don't like using the terms white or black sence white also can be caraterized as good and black as evil. Yet it really does depend of the person who is looking at it. Also that white also means everything and black is nothing.
Although many people call others black, it isn't a color. Something black is something that absorves every color therfor not releflecting any color. White is something that reflects every color therfor it emits a color so it can be considered a color, but sence black don't emit any colors it isn't a color. Although this is only a theory.
Anyways the only reason man created these terms is because of the fact someone was diffrent. Although I dont see whats the big differance, its not like they have an extra heart. They pump the same blood as we do dont they?
In this world the is no such thing as correctness when it comes to opinions, and thats because every one has a diffrent opinion, this is why we humans will never become perfect, because we have opinions. In my opinion tho, I perfer to have an opnion then to be perfect.
I guess I went a bit off track tho. Heh.
Anyways I had to write all of that just to explain why the terms black and white shouldn't be used in my opinion. So that still leaves quite the gap.
As for the fourm on racial abuse the situation could have been handeled better, but in the end the school probably handed out of that notice, because of the fact that in the USA they could have sued the school if they didn't. So basicly or they handed out the fourm and made the whole thing go away or face the potencial rick of getting sued... I can understand why they handed out the fourm.
Also your observation isn't very justified. As I wrote befor "white" people are pink and "black" people are brown so in other words the 1st word that should have came out of a persons mouth that had observed the person by color would have been brown. Personaly I don't really care what you would call a person but by calling them "black" you have the possibilaty of offending them so I sugest you ask them what they think that they should be called. I wounder... Has anyone actually asked that yet...?
