all animals make mistakes. just they dont cause as much damages as the mistakes of humans.

Actually one of the very premises of science is that what once was considered correct may not be correct afterall, after additional research and testing.

To quote Einstein: No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; a single experiment can prove me wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falsifiable
Science meets this criteria, faith/religion tends not to.

^ I agree

"Everything is determined by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect as well as for the star. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust - we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper."

Yeah its easy to prove something scientific wrong.

but my point still stands, how can people actually believe science is not true. if proven wrong it is always proven wrong by a greater and stronger scientific argument.

A lot of people do not understand science, or the underlying premises, they want neat pigeonholes. Almost binary in a sense. Yes, or no. Black or white.

An answer with a maybe or an if, makes them as uneasy as the varying shades of grey, when looking at a situation.

I merely wished to caution against the idea that science cannot be wrong, when one of the cornerstones of science is that what was once considered true, might not be true after additional research and testing..

To place science on the pedestal of there can be no mistakes and everything we know is true, that would make it little different from religion. And science is very different from religion, precisely because it allows for the fact that mistakes will be made, that we do not know everything, etc etc.

It's the same reason why a true scientist will not say that there is no God. This is something that cannot be tested at our current means, it cannot be either validated by proof or disproven. And even if proven, it could lead to a situation of ok, we now found one God, maybe there's another.

See the examples mentioned on that wikipedia page I mentioned before about white swans, the existence of black swans and whether it could be possible for green swans to exist.

even though im atheist i find this statement wise:

'tis better to believe, be wrong, and die happy than to not believe, be wrong, and die with eternal punishment'

no matter what you believe, this sentence IS correct.

Real followers set themselves apart from other people, when you meet a real Christian you will know what I mean.

Man, I was so ready for this topic I thought it would be about Muslims and Terrorism crap like that...Christianity is a very religious faith makes a lot of sense. The holy Quran and the Bible have many things in common but I believe in Islam. Christianity is very absurd to me. Hindu is just fucked up in the head straight...YOU GUYS BELIEVE IN STATUES WTH?!
They have like 7 gods 0.0

Once again, I am not a terrorist ^^

Ex-Christians laughing at there former faith

Not Hindu or anything, but someone else on the forum might be, so stop hating... This topic isn't hate on other religions just because you don't have the same beliefs.

And to Anime Wolf, no, nobody was there when God created the world, we don't have proof and we never will because we can't travel back in time (but maybe some day we will), the Bible told us He did.

And science can very much easily be wrong. Don't rely on science too much..

Quote:
I gave it up,because I thought it didn't make sence and to me it didn't, I always heard people preaching about how "God" was perfect, but perfection is impossible, because its totally contradictory. For "God" to be perfect it would have to be the kindest person yet the meanest at the same time, it would have to be perfectly good and evil at the same time. It would have to be the perfect man and the perfect women at the same time. I found it to be impossible for such a being to exist.
God wasn't human. Yes, we're not perfect because we make mistakes, all humans do. But God wasn't a human. HE'S GOD. Lol.

Im just really angry on how everything is just getting blamed on Muslims about Terrorism.

Honestly yesterday I was walking down a side walk when this muslim lady with a Hijab(scarf covering the hair)on going to the convenience store and this fat white lady said

"TERRORIST! TERRORIST! YOU CAUSED 9/11!"

The lady just went into the store. I was just shocked. The lack of education of Americans who think all bombings are the work of terrorists this stupidity is spreading...

To lastshinigami, I agree with ya to a point. Misplaced anger is bad,not all muslims are extremists. I look at it as another way for ignorant basturds (spelled for accuracy, lol) to feel bigger or better than sum1 else.

On to topic. Imo, God exists and theres no way to prove that he dosent from where I stand. Science, atleast what I feel it should be, should be a way to try and understand what and or how God has accomplished and use it to make our lives easier ( im going along the lines of nuclear energy). BUt, unfortunately, science is used as a way to undermine God. which is kinda weird to me since science isnt exact, and theories and things like that change all the time.
