I will be posting some of my poems as I write them. I haven't written one recently soooo I'll post one I wrote right before I graduated High School.
Lover's Embrace
[br]
Two lovers' embrace
In this tale being told
Shall dampen your eyes
Making your heart unfold.
Flowers about to blossom
Wind begins to sing
Love arises in the air
'Twas the beginning of Spring.
The day began in the usual way
As he woke up to the horn
The crow of the cock was loud and clear
Bringing forth a bright new morn.
Though he did not wish to wake
He knew what had to be done
He shot out of bed, got ready for work
And headed off into the sun.
Down the path on which he walks
He observes a figure of light
Rubbing his eyes after blinking twice
Takes a glance at the dazzling sight.
The wonderous being with the shimmering glow
Sits idol upon the grass
His eyes met hers under the sun
Like marbles of twinkling glass.
Flowers have blossomed
Wind has sung
Love swirling about the air
Spring was almost done.
Sun scorches the Earth
During summertime bliss
Angel's tears fall
Hell's roof makes a hiss.
The love that they share
Can only be told
As of couples in the past
And in the tales of old.
Each day after work
He comes home to a kiss
Sits down to eat dinner
With the one he has missed.
Sitting out on the porch
Staring up at the night
Watching the stars twinkle
Under the pale moonlight.
As he falls into sleep
He thinks of his life
How happy it makes him
To be there with his wife.
Sun scorched the Earth
During summertime bliss
Angel's tears fell
Hell's roof made a hiss.
Autumn's crisp scent
Swimming in the breeze
Nature's cool breath
Dancing with the trees.
Their time is fading
It is plain to see
Losing their vibrance
Like leaves on a tree.
Visiting with family
With the life they've got left
Robbed of their time
God was guilty of theft.
While sleeping one night
He was visited in dream
Like a voice from beyond
Or so it would seem.
"Listen my child
Beware, for I warn
This coming winter
One's heart shall be torn."
Autumn's crisp scent
Once swam in the breeze
Death's cold touch
Now lurks in the trees.
Winter's cold curtain
Comes steadily down
Death follows closely
Like shadows on the ground.
The day began in an unusual way
As he woke up close to dawn
Something sinister lingered about
He knew that something was wrong.
The wife he loved for so many years
Had passed away in peace
Her halo's glow was the only thing
Which kept his heart at ease.
He lay beside his angelic bride
Held her close and tight
Together they went as lovers should
Venturing into light.
Just like the trees
They shall return
Starting over in life
With more lessons to learn.
Winter's cold curtain
Finally fell
When the deed was done
Death flew back to Hell.
Two lover's embrace
In this tale being told
Closing their eyes
Making your heart unfold.
