I don't think that 7 is overrated at all, its just that their feeble attempts to do it justice without remaking it in ps3 glory don't live up to its original godliness. Because of that, any time there is renewed hype about a new FF7 universe game that isn't a remake it waters it down more, and makes it seem overrated. All the world needs is a properly executed FF7 remake, done by none other than Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura back together again.
That'll never happen unfortunately :"(

yea i guess so...sadly nobuo uematsu has left square enix so the OST of the new FF7(if there was one) would probably not be up to standard with FF7 maniacs(me included)...

Yeah, I honestly think that the Square-Enix merger put too much strain on the Final Fantasy teams working relationships with Square. Hironobu got fired after Final Fantasy- The Spirits Within didn't make massive amounts of money... even though he spent all of his time (Wasn't involved in Final Fantasy X at all because of it) and a significant amount of his own money on the movie. It was pretty fucked up imo, Aki is named after his mother, which means beautiful if I remember correctly.
For those too young or to unfamiliar with the history of Square, it used to be called Squaresoft, and its main rival in Japan was Enix, and their competition in making great rpgs in the good old days brought out such greats as FF7 and Star Ocean: The Second Story... When they merged their contradicting ideas about what gameplay should be in a game causes teams to be isolated even to this day. Though the two always shared several common elements and themes they remained in their own style- the main example being that Square favored turn based combat and Enix favored real time battles. This evolution becomes startlingly apparent after you look at the games produced before and after the merger and as the hardware became more powerful it was Enix's argument that won since it became feasible to generate high quality graphics and not have to pre render anything like the good ol days.
During that transition Tetsuya Nomura took over the reins of the Final Fantasy 7 Compilation titles and since he was the character designer of FF7 he didn't really have a lot of directorial skill like Hironobu had from the previous games. So while the story was true to the reputation of FF7, the gameplay suffered from hinderances it shouldn't have. (Thinking of Dirge of Cerberus, would have preferred turn based Crisis Core but I'm old school...) Anyways enough of my reminiscing, I have my fingers crossed 13 is still a Final Fantasy, and have been praying for a remake for years but since I'm atheist you can all blame me because HE probably refuses to grant everyone's wish because I'm a douche in His eyes.
Lol religion jokes.

Thats a tough decision  , between 10 and 12.
But im going to have to choose 10, it has a great story and brilliant characters.
Although i prefer the fighting system in 12.

It's so surprising, so many FFX fans out there, for some reason it was my least favorite, it didn't even feel like a Final Fantasy, got all of the characters at the outset, no world map (still my one gripe in FFXII but it was much better done by comparison) and the sphere grid was not the sweetest. Plus instead of a super sweet poster in my collector's strategy guide like with the previous guides (I even got a cloth world map for FFVIII!) I got the sphere grid and some chart for Rikku's(?) Limit break.

I don't think 12 is as nearly as good as 10, or 7. I'm not sure about 8 but I heard it's pretty good. Any know from experince?

1TB = 1,024 GB = 1,048,576 MB = 1,073,741,824 KB = 1,099,511,627,776 Bytes = 8,796,093,022,208 bits. I pity the fool who thinks a terabyte isn't alot of space, 'cause I highly doubt that they're willing to write atleast 8 trillion one's...
I'm going to be off for a while due to tests. Cya later.

Imo, the story of 8 was brilliant, and I loved it immensely because of that, the only thing that really hurt it was the gameplay, especially the battle system. Cycling for limit breaks when you are low on HP was a joke, and the don't get me started on the junction system. But even so, the story makes up for it and ranks 8 in at #3 for me after 7 and 12.

yeah the whole balamb garden concept really got me hooked into the series...im playing it again as we speak as i never could complete it due to the dam junction system in need of magic lol
despite that its still very good and it deserves to be remade in some respect just as FF7 does.
