There could be many possibilities like me going to a friends house and logging onto my account. Then wouldn't his account and my account be banned?
Hence why I mentioned a static IP as opposed to a dynamic IP, which constantly changes. And even with the latter, if you and your friend use the same ISP, then you'll have a similar IP range, because ISPs tend to buy them in large blocks to serve their customers.

Makes it easy to run a trace to see, which city it originates from, then do a double check to see if any other users trace back to that area, and then simply do a guestimate on how likely it is that it's all the same user. Which you can often figure out by way of their posting habits.

If, one poster does a lot with anime, but the other seems obsessed with knitting, then it's not likely that they're one and the same. If, both accounts deal with anime. Looks like we got a target match, and then it's simply a question of swinging the ban hammer.

Proxies are annoying, but one can work around those. Spoofers are a more annoying problem, and most sites do not have the tools to defeat those, then again, youtube has plenty of money available to purchase such tools, so I wouldn't put it past them, that they're able to get around the spoofers as well.

They can't just do that to you because they do not have enough evidance. Maybe they do but I don't know. I think what gave him away might be Rosario + vampire being licenced. Or maybe it's because they just don't like anime.
