Year, Somewhere Before Time

The angels looked upon the magnificent heavens with love and joy, then stopped. From the darkness beyond Heaven's reach came a creature not seen before. This was the Devil, a golden skinned dragon with seven heads and many tails, eyes crimson as rubies. It attacked the angels without hesitation, giving no care to whom it slaughtered. Only four opposed the Devil. These were the three Seraphim; Lucifer, Micheal and Gabriel, and the then demi-god, Avankiri. Together, the four sent the evil down to Earth. As it fell, they parted the clouds and scattered the Earth into four large pieces, which would become the seven continents. The Devil fell through the sky, through the Great Ocean, and even through the core of Earth, into Hell...

Hell is no fiery pit as The Bible calls it. For if Hell were so, then Heaven, being its exact opposite, would be a refrigerator. Hell is merely a place of near pure darkness. The dead there carry lanterns with which they navigate their way around the vast plains of terror, where demons point and laugh at them as they feed on their own flesh.

Merely hours after the fall of the Devil, Lucifer pulled his elder brother, Avankiri aside within their heavenly home. Now, Lucifer was a shy and short person, where his more outgoing brother was tall and, well, not shy. Lucifer spoke to Avankiri when he knew there was none else around.

"Brother Avan, we defeated a creature without any help other than from Micheal and Gabriel." He said. Avankiri merely nodded. "And what is it you wish to say about this, Brother Lucifer?" He asked, patting his younger sibling on the shoulder.

Lucifer shrugged off Avan's hand. "I mean to say, Brother, that we did so without any help from Him..."

The color ran from Avan's face. He looked Lucifer dead in the eye. "What are you saying, young one? That our Lord made no movement because he was lazy or something?"

Lucifer hesitated...then nodded. It would be the biggest mistake of his life. "Why did he send us to fight instead of getting rid of this beast himself?"

Avankiri shook his head. "I know not...But listen to me, Lucifer, and listen well...Speak not badly of the Lord...I will smite you myself and cast you from this house before I even begin to imagine the idea of something so horrible."

Lucifer nodded slowly and turned, going to bed for the night. Avankiri sat on the balcony railing and sighed. A glass of red wine appeared between his fingers, and he sipped softly at it. Oh yes, friends, wine was around then. It was a delicacy that only the demi-gods enjoyed. Avankiri, demi-god that he was, was one of those priveleged few. "O Fate, thou art cruel indeed, to allow my brother Lucifer's mind to be filled with such despicable thoughts...For this, I shall see to it that I let this night not slip to our Lord's ears, lest we both be tossed from the Gates by our necks."

Avankiri Amari Arcanus Amaranthius, demi-god and head of the Amaranth house, caught no sleep that night. For on the edge of his dreams, he felt the presence of Evil making its way into Heaven. Not a physical manifestation, no...The Devil's dark power had crept through the sword of Mighty Lucifer and stricken him with a terrible illness...An illness that Avan would have to cast down much later with his own hands.

That illness had a name...It was called Evil.

Wow I really loved that refridgerator thing that was nicely done and creative lol.

Lawl now your making yourself sound like superman or something "tall and outgoing" xD.

Also, isn't Lucifer the devil?

Also, doesn't the lord know everything? He would have known this by now. Yes I'm religious.

I'm writing as I see fit. According to my cousin, who's read all three different books, Satan, Lucifer, and the Devil are three different people.

Lucifer = the angel cast into hell
The Devil = first embodiment of evil that came to heaven and was cast into hell before Lucifer
Satan = Lucifer's son

And even if it's not correct, kiss my ass.

The next morning, Lucifer awoke, refreshed from the sweet sleep he'd had the night before. He turned over in his bed and smiled, glad to see Avan asleep in his own bed. If there was one thing Lucifer cared for more than anything else, it was his brother.

He crept from their room, humming a soft tune to himself as he walked outside into the brilliant morning light. He sat softly on the edge of a cloud and peered down, watching a miracle occur. God was giving life to his latest creation, Adam. Adam was what the angels call humans. In Angelic, human literally means "One who is loved".

Lucifer smiled and kicked his feet a bit, then spread his wings and glided softly around Heaven, humming the tune still and watching as others of his race rose from their beds to greet the morning sun. He sat quietly at the edge of another cloud and watched the birth of Lilith., who was created not of Adam, but of the Earth itself. He smiled at the beauty of such a creature, then stopped to think. Beauty? Angels had no comprehension of such emotions. Nor had they understanding of love and joy. To them, all things were the same...

Lucifer's eyes drew inward a bit and he winced in what could be described as disgust. "...Like puppets...Angels have no emotions...We live the same days over and over again...It's always the same. Nothing ever changes...Because we can't feel like those humans down there...Can we?" His pupils dilated for a moment, then he shook the feeling off and stood. Lucifer stepped from the cloud and dropped to Earth, sitting in the Tree of Life and tender stroking one of the apples, his thoughts drifting back to the day before.

The battle raged on for hours, but finally, it was Lucifer's sword that pierced the Devil's flesh and sent him writhing down to Hell. But now he remembered. A piece of the flesh had stayed upon the blade. It had crept slowly along and up Lucifer's body, then dug itself deeply into his soul without him even noticing.

The Evil was inside him.

Interesting how you said lucifer was the angel that was kicked out of heaven and went to hell but from what I know. Lucifer is an angel who is "bad" or something and he went down to hell and he created hell so basically he's the devil.

Pretty interesting the second part. Keep them up.

He didn't create Hell. God created Hell as a sort of prison, where people who go in can't come out. Lucifer was thrown out sometime after the Devil appeared.

Different books say different things. I, for one, don't trust the Bible. So kiss my ass, yet again. Just let me write as I will. I am a storyteller, not a Biblical historian.

Lucifer stood from the Tree and drifted back upward, attempting to think. But his thought centered further on that strange feeling that had come to him. He landed back in Heaven and floated lightly through the air, humming a tune to himself again.

Meanwhile, Avan sat up from his bed and rubbed his eyes. The dream that had come to him had not been a pleasant one. He stood and stretched his 6 wings softly, then walked to the balcony and took flight, off to visit the demi-goddesses who had bore him. One was the Goddess of Love, Serenity. The second, the Goddess of Life, Imuro. Third, the Goddess of Fear, Minuit. They turned softly to him as he approached, each smiling in turn, but all speaking at once. "Good son, you come again. What brings you here to this gentle house, Avan?"

Avan's breath caught in his throat. He had come to speak with them, but now he was scared to do so. In this particular realm of Heaven, the Lord had no ears. Avan, realizing this, relaxed. "Great Mothers who gave life to many beings before me, I hath seen a great and terrible vision this night."

The Triplet Goddesses looked worry. "Oh, dear. Tell us what this is, dear." Avan shivered. "Yes..." He relayed his tale, the dream of a man cradeling a skull in one hand, then crushing it with a bloodied fist.

This vision would become true, it would prove. The skull belonged to no one, it was merely a metaphor. Something was going to happen to crush the head of Heaven and cripple him. Avan feared this and turned again, flying as fast as he could to the Lord to tell him the news. But would he make it in time? None know.
