Yo-ho,

I was thinking, how many Pirates hang around this port? And what do you use to get yar booty? lol.

In other words, you money-givers, what do you use to download your stuff, be it music, programs, movies, etc. I'm in the process of changing the one I currently use for a better one. Please don't say Torrent, have a terrible experience with 'em. Thanks!

I know you said not to say Torrents.

But torrents is the best free way to pirate, unless you wanna pay money.

Any other way is harder, not as fast, doesnt have a big enough library of stuff and not safe.

If you learnt how to use torrents, or made a thread im sure we'd be able to help you.

But unless you wanna pay money to pirate which my dad does. Torrents are realisticly the best way.

Of course, but bearshare has a limited library, IMO. But that was eons ago. I feel no longer to be able to trust anything else besides eMule. (I'm seriously traumatized since Kazaa lol) But I'm pretty sure bearshare has grown.

As for torrents, they led me on a half night trip to no success into the program. How is it that these work? You download the program, then what? Sorry, just don't like em, still, thanks for offering.

I've heard of Ares as well. Good things and bad, though. More light on this sinking pirate. ^_^

Torrents work in a weird way, at first i didnt know how they worked either, and i refused to try them, but one day i did. And now i love them, but i wish i could get onto a private tracker, that would be win.

Anyways this how torrents work.

First you download a torrent client. All this is a program that can download files. I reccomend uTorrent, its the best. So you download utorrent and install it on your computer. You then open up utorrent and input basic information, your line speed where you want the downloaded files to go and what not. After that you go to a torrent site like isohunt or thepiratebay. You search for a files, say you wanted code geass anime, type in code geass into the search bar and it will come up with a list. you find one that looks good and you go to download the file. But this is the part that is a bit tricky, what you are downloaing is a '.torrent' file. This file is essential for you to download the code geass anime. So go download the .torrent file and save it somewhere. Then after that you must open your torrent client up, and then go 'file' then 'add torrent' and browse for the .torrent file you downloaded just before and click open. And then you start downloading the code geass anime.

torrents are faster then direct downloading, because simply put you are not just downloading from a server but hundreds and if not thousnads of people who are downloading the same file. I have never downloaded at my max speed with direct downloads, emule or bearshare. I have downloaded the fastest with utorrent a full half a meg a second. Plus i have never not found a file that i was looking for with torrents, i ahve always found it whether it be music, game, software or movies.

so yeah.

Arr mattie, the only thing I be using is that pirate Limewire. It does wonders for swabs treasure.

If you guys are big downloaders but I'm not sorry I only download a few games like Maplestories or something and Java if needed too shockwave and adobe flash player also o.o but if you guys are BIG downloaders then you want a faster download speed look here

ARES aww please u got to be kidding me, thats a ship wreck which was then coverent in nothing but spanish stuff and some songs...

id rather have bearshare or limewire if i had to choose something other then torrents

I also tend to watch my movies/tv-shows/anime online now because i generally dont have time to start a download wait for it to finish, then watch it.

So let's see if I got it right. Get utorrent. Download a torrent. Open utorrent program. Browse for downloaded file. Voila?

In a step by step this is how to download torrents.
1.Download uTorrent and install it
2.Open once to get prefences setup
3.Go to your favorite torrent site and download a torrent, when the torrent file is on your computer double click it and uTorrent will open and ask you what you want to do with the file.
4.Accept and then leave it alone for a while.
5.Depending on the size of file and #of seeders it could take some time, so do otherthings in the meantime.
6.The file will eventually be downloaded to your computer, and ENJOY!

i always use the "google hack" before i use either torrents or limewire , the google hack is far superior to using limewire

thats true, HOWEVER i can find things like anime songs and other things on Limewire which i can never find with google hacks.

I use youtorrent because it does a search within all the major public torrent trackers, so youll get a good number of results.
