Can Your Computer Run It?
Welcome to the System Requirements Lab!
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
I found this groovy gadget on the net. If you ever wonder whether you computer will be able to run a particular game, you can check it with this. It simply scans your computer's specifications and compares them to the minimum and recommended specs for the game. All it requires is that you enable an ActiveX control to use it.
I find it is really useful to test whether your machine will be able to run a game you are thinking of buying and trying out. This way you don't need to remember the specs of your machine, or of the game, you can just scan, and it compares it for you and gives you a nice readout!
I hope its useful!

btw, this works for about 90% of computers because for some games they could be more gfx card intensive or CPU intensive.
Example: Rates my Macbook pro better then my desktop for playing UT3, but because the Unreal Engine runs better with a better gfx card, my desktop out performs my macbook pro because the gfx card is better, however my MBP kills my desktop with CoD4 because CoD4 is more CPU intensive, and my desktop is a single core.

Antec 900 Case
Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 (X38 chipset)
Intel E8400 @ 3.6ghz (400 fsb - 9x multiplier)
4gb G.Skill DDR2-800 (1:1 ratio)
MSI 8800GT OC'd to 720/1725/2080
Seagate 320gb SATA HD
Rosewill Stallion 550w Power Supply
Not really anything outstanding... but I had decent performance in mind when I built it.
Let's see some others!

I guess it will help but it doesn't seem like I'm playing any games or downloading any or buying any, anytime soon o.o

that is pretty pimp.
I use my Macbook Pro running XP for my higher end games, while my desktop for things like WoW and UT2k4.
But macbook Pro is running:
- Intel Core 2 Duo T7500
- nVidia 8600M GT OC'd to 470/700 (I could go much higher but id rather not have my macbook get too hot)
- 3gb DDR2 memory
- Running screen at 1440x900 on a 15.4" screen
a Buddy of mine has the QX6750 running at 4.0ghz with water cooling, and 3x nVidia 8800 Ultras running SLi. I hate him so much, his machine is a BEAST.

That's really good specs for a laptop. I'm guessing the cost was $1500-$2200?
I wish I had watercooling
Haven't felt the need to overclock to 4.6+ yet tho... Until then, I'm stuck with the stock heatsink/fan.
Tri-SLI ultras, so expensive but so nice
The Nvidia 9800GX2 has just been released, and they've been benchmarking better in most cases than tri-8800ultras.

I only did one for Crysis. Was about one mm behind the recommended for it.
AMD 64x2 cpu 5400+
2.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM
(2.8 is stock, haven't needed to oc it for anything yet. Didn't get 3 gigs of ram because so far, I haven't needed over ~750 for anything, though Crysis would probably want ~1200)
Besides the CPU:
9600 GT
Former noted 2 gigs of RAM
And since Silver put stuff about his case, I may as well, if only to compare to him.
500w power supply, 2 x 120 mm fans (should get another, I guess), side air ducts, of course. Probably gonna grab a SATA HD, maybe a cd drive. (Yeah, only have a dvd/internal right now, lol, but it's no problem. I love the case. amazing for $50).
I basically just put this computer together - cost about ~486ish I think, including shipping! (That includes a fan, a heatsink, CPU, mobo, video card, case, power supply, memory.. basically the whole bundle minus HD.. lol).
Well, it isn't the best, but it does it's job quite well!
EDIT: I know I was casual (this translates to lazy), explaining my specs, feel free to ask any questions about parts/details, etc.
