What does Arc and Filler mean?

I think I know what Filler means, it means that the episode is not following the manga.

But Arc I don't understand because I been hearing "new arc" a lot so I was just wondering

If anyone could help then that would be wonderful, thanks.

Basically filler is episodes that do not affect the overall plot line (like you said, they usually don't follow the manga). Arcs are like chapters in a book, they cover a particular time-span or event/s that continue the story or plot.

yup in bleach a filler arc is the bounto ..
they don't affect the storyline
it's like a sidestory ..

let me give u an example
In bleach there was: the soul society arc, then the bounnto arc (filler), now theres the Hueco Mundo arc.

Yeah...I hate bounto anyways it kind of did effect it because we figured out that the guy with the bow ( I forgot name) lost his powers but regained.
