The Dark

As i stare into the dark corners of my mind
I see the memories of what was once there


Long lost friends from years past, both kind and cruel
Feelings of happiness and joy that died long ago
A lifetime of failures that haunts me


The sadness of the dark stares back and is inviting
I could just give in and become one with this sadness
The dark is cold but not unfriendly, comforting in its silence


I have lived this sadness before, but now I wish to break free
I will embrace the Fury and Love that make up my very soul
and with these emotions I shall banish the dark before it consumes me


As I stare into the dark corners of my mind
The sadness of the dark stares back


I turn away from the dark and embrace life

I like it but the title feels off to me.
I would probably call it Emotional Nightlight or just Nightlight.

If you have written anymore update please and if the (not finished and never will be) is a part of the poem then wow that's deep.
