However, its was Konoha's Fault for making Itachi to Kill the Uchiha and leave Sasuke ect.
So in effect, he's simply seeking revenge and a certain sense of redemption.

Ah, but did they? Or is Madara lying about that.

After all, Itachi's supposed mission was to root out those Uchiha's who were planning a coupe d'etat. Let's say that he found out that it was Madara who was stirring them up.

Take out Madara and Konoha is safe from his meddling for all time. But in order to get close to him, he first needed to win Madara's trust* (consider that Madara is a very old git and probably has forgotten more Jutsu's than Itachi could ever hope to learn). The only way to get rid of such a person, is by being close to them and waiting for that one single moment of them not paying attention.

It also helps explain why he'd join Akatsuki. It's Madara's organization, so if you want to be close to Madara, then you have little choice but to join it.

*: The price for gaining said trust could've been the slaughter of the loyal Uchiha's. And, if at the same time, his superiors wanted him to take out the corrupted ones, he may have well decided to take them all down at the same time. With only the Third knowing all the details of what Itachi was planning.


Well, it was under the second spoiler tag, but for some reason they weren't presented separately, so you may have missed it.

I was talking about Itachi anticipating that Madara might be able to hoodwink Sasuke into becoming his next pawn. So, Itachi has set up a contingency plan to deal with the possibility of Sasuke attacking Konoha.

Said plan is Naruto, he's stored a large amount of chakra in Naruto by the looks of it. Possibly, why he was weaker in his fight with Sasuke as well. He wanted Naruto to be able to kill Sasuke to protect Konoha, just as he sicced Sasuke after himself for his supposed betrayal of the Uchiha clan.

Naruto turned that down and said he's protect both Konoha and stop Sasuke without killing him.

I mean, we know that Naruto has been reluctant as of late to call upon the demon fox, mayhaps Itachi's chakra will help even the odds between Sasuke and Naruto. The latter will still need some more techniques imnsho.

But as Asuma-sensei said, when two ninja's of equal strength are fighting, the one with the sharpest blade will win. And Naruto being a wind-type can sharpen his blade to be stronger than that of Sasuke.

Satsu, I don't think Madara would be making that stuff up, he felt like he was betrayed by the Uchiha's Clan. So you can say helping Itachi, gave him great Joy, in a sick kind of way lol.

That may be true, but Naruto's wind is no match for Sasuke's Katon :3

I didn't say anything about making stuff up.. Simple forgetting to mention certain details or being unaware of said details would be enough.

Villainy 101, the best way to hide a lie, is to hide it amongst the truth.
So he disavows siccing the Demon-fox after Konoha shortly after Naruto was born, that's about the only mistake he made.

The rest, like being the one behind the rebel Uchiha's, or him ordering Itachi to kill off the Uchiha loyalists.. Why mention such petty details, which will only confuse the poor boy..

Madara differs little from Orochimaru with his scheming and his obsession with conflict.

Madara is a guy wrapped in so many riddles that no one even knows the extent of his reach, like Orochimaru on steroids, he's also an Uchiha, so he's good with deception. If anyone were going to try to pull of an epic level bluff and be likely to succeed it would probably be him.

Nice twist! The thing I wonder the most is what did itachi exactly give naruto? Most likely you would think chakra but doesn't naruto have enough? Or is it techniques? Arggh! Guess I need to find out in the later manga.

Satsu I see your point, and yeah Madara isn't your run of the mill villain

Maybe he gave him something to defend against the Mangekyou. But one flaw in that is, Itachi never saw Sasuke's Mangekyou.

well as the kyuubi has the sharingan or something similar in his eyes maybe he gave naruto the ability to have the kyuubi eyes or something. this could get real interesting.

And I think Itachi gave Naruto the sharingan itself, so he can look directly at Sasuke without being pulled into his sharingan's jutsu.
