I'd be fine with Aizen being stomped by Ichigo now. It wouldn't be him pulling out some super powered ability from his ass or anything, it would be the result of all the Gotei 13 setting it up perfectly so he just has to slash. Though I could potentially see this being another illusion and Aizen threw Yamamoto out of the explosion looking like him.

If Ichigo does kill him, it sets up for a new villian where Ichigo has to progress the use of his Hollow Ressurecion.

If Ichigo doesn't kill him, it sets up for Ichigo to be annihilated and then go ressurecion.

Either way my guess is we'll see in the next few weeks whether there will be a new arc or not.
