Personally, I think this is the most pivotal episode, since Naruto won the hearts and admiration of his peers, at the Chuunin exams.
First, because he realizes the danger he posed to the team (as well as causing injury to Sakura).

Next, because the premise shows that he's now going to be taught to build on and rely upon his own strengths, instead of letting the Kyuubi be in control. To me, that would seem to mean that as he learns and grows in strenth, he will come to control the Kyuubi, and instead of being used by it, he will use it's force to magnify his own abilities.

Last, because Sasuke has finally returned to the show, after being absent from the story-line, for 1/2 of the entire series,, other than flashbacks.

These 3 points have caused me great anticipation of future episodes.
