Romance\action, Romance\sci-fi like DearS, Chobits or Shakugan No Shana. Ecchi is fine and humor is fine, just looking for stuff more serious then To Love Ru and Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun.

eh go check out
zero no tsukaima. if you haven't seen that its exactly what your looking for and clannad too if you havent seen it. i heard rental magica was pretty good but i haven't seen it

What about "They are my noble masters", not much romance, but it's funny.
The movie "Toki wo kakeru shoujo" is also a good romance, but rather serious.
"Clannad the movie", that's also good.

zero no tsukaima and Clannad werer both good, I am so bad at remembering names of ones I have watched and forget to put them on my list lol

Here's a list of the ones I think you should watch.

Da Capo (all seasons)
School Days (some romance, mostly affairs and stuff like that)
Spice and Wolf (a little romance but is serious)
Love Hina (both seasons)
Karin

I have more but I cannot think of them for the time being.
