Yea Id agree with that monster is amazing and has some real fucked up moments and some very messed up charactors. Deffinitly worth a watch....very good!

Id also reccomend Gantz, just been watching that I can tell u its VERY fucked up, I dont usually trust Gonzo with anything but theyve done an ok job of this one, although Im sure the manga is 1000 times better.

Also, Evangellion.....if ur friend hasnt already seen it. Its fucked up, its got some real good stomach churning screaming (not the dub tho), backstabbing, undeserved suffering and a fair bit of violence. tis an old classic and a personal fave

You could also try Perfect Blue, its not a series but its stalker/serial killer flick not bad for a quick watch. Its a bit old though
