Similar Animes?

I have been running out of top notch animes to watch lately and was hoping you guys can recommend a couple to me to hold me over until my college starts again. I have two particular categories which I love.

Category One
- Deathnote
- Gantz

I feel that those two are in the same category as they portray evil protagonists. Basically this is the one I am hoping to find another similar series too. Ones with evil heroes. I am really tired of the good guys and there are not nearly enough shows following the bad guys. Especially successful bad guys.

Category Two
Naruto
Bleach
Full Metal Alchemist
Inuyasha
Witchblade
Avatar: The Last Airbender

In this category I liked the super-natural powers which the protagonists possessed. I find shows that are well done, but based on something that's been done a million times booring.

I especially liked it when they had hidden abillities which would awaken in times of crisis (IE Naruto gaining the power of the Kyuubi and growing fangs and claws and proceeding to kick ass, Avatar's Aang using the avatar state to unlock god-like bending abillities)

I would prefer finding more shows from Category One because I get so much more excited when I watch one of those. I stayed up all night watching both of those series last time.

Possibly Code Geass, it's similiar to Death Note...
Except for there is no L just Suzaku.

Definitely I would say Black Lagoon and Code Geass. A few awesome ones I like as well are Full Metal Panic and Tenchi Muyo. Idk the last 2 don't really fit quite as well but I think you would find FMP pretty awesome.

I have actually been surprised how many of the second category anime's there are. D Gray Man, Ayakashi, etc they are all well done and seem to fit, but I think that I liked things like Gantz and Death Note because of how different they are. I realized that after I started watching Haruhi and got glued to the computer again even though its nothing even remotely resembling Gantz or Death Note.

You guys did mention a lot of animes I haven't tried yet so I think I will give them a go. Thanks for all the help.

Let me clarify a little

I am looking for an anime that which either floors me with originality or follows a bad guy or a seemingly evil character. BTW, Code Geass looks like it will hold me over. Thanks for that.

Seen Elfen Lied already. Was awesome. Just forgot to list it.

BTW, Code Geass was awesome. Who would have thought that an original anime could resemble Death Note so much and still be completely original.

Full Metal Panic seems to be following my search everywhere I go, but I jinxed myself when I read the plot overview. I can hate any anime just by reading that. Tip to future anime seekers, don't read anything about an anime before watching it...
