Roleplaying in particular has different a different set of rules based on genre and the creator of the roleplay. Truthfully, the creator, also called the God or Game-master, controls the story plot and storyline. S/he is the one person all other roleplayers answer to. If a roleplayer disobeys the rules set forth by the Game-master, the G.M., if you will, has the right to keep the person from roleplaying anymore in that particular roleplay...

The rules of Roleplay in general are as follows:

1. Be courteous. Nobody likes an asshole for a roleplayer, or a G.M.

2. Remember the genre you're in. You won't find superheros, magic, or monsters in a modern-day roleplay, just like you won't find realistic things in a fantasy style roleplay.

3. You can not kill a character or harm it, unless it is a character you'll only see once and will never hear from again. However, if the owner of a character says that you may kill the character, or the plot simply has no other alternative, then you may thus "kill".

4. Be descriptive when it comes to character sheets. We're not asking for an essay for one little bit of information, but it's annoying when you give only one line word. The same goes for posts. The minimum amount of posts is 2 lines. Not a full two lines on the verge of a third, but if you have at least 1 line on the verge of two or two lines, then your post is valid.

5. The G.M. is God. Remember that. What they say, goes. If you don't like it, don't participate in that particular roleplay. He or she allowed your character to be, and he or she can just as easily twist the plot to kill your character if you've gone and done something stupid like jump into the middle of a herd of thousands of demons and attempt to fight every single one. That's suicide. Don't be a fucking dumbass or an asshole, and you may live.

6. The roleplayers are real people who (maybe) have feelings of their own. Don't start a fight, don't flame, and we'll all get along just fine...

7. This is my own personal rule. Don't be a sarcastic ass. Nobody likes a guy who constantly sounds like he's the bully of the block.

8. All members are allowed to create roleplays.

9. Each roleplay has a genre that is one of the following:

Fantasy/Sci-Fi
Modern/Historical
Fanbased
Anime based/Drama based

10. The Topic Maker sets the rules for the particular roleplay he or she has set up. -Forum Staff have complete permission to edit-

12. Never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever post using *'s to show action. Make your post more like a book. For example, don't say:
*looks under the table for keys*
Say:
He/I/[insert character's name] knelt down and looked under the table for the keys to the door.
Not doing so makes you look like an idiot.

13. You can not ever control another person's character without that person's permission, and you must give a reason for control. This includes characters that the person just brings into the RP, or characters from the show/book/etc that the RP is based on.

These are the four who will write rp reviews. They can choose whichever ones they wish. Multiple reviews can be given for the same roleplay. {REVIEW} must be in the title, and rp names may be shortened to initials. Reviews will be whatever the reviewer thinks.

Grammar, people! Grammar! Use correct spelling when possible. Capitalize your I's when they are used in reference to yourself. Capitalize the beginning of sentences. Show where action ends and speech begins, and vice versa. I'm getting annoyed with the very little grammatical correctness of some of our roleplayers.

RP rule number 21

I'm reinstating the closing rule. If a roleplay is not replied to within 4 days, it will be closed.

Also, I am unlocking this topic so others may suggest rules to instate. Roleplaying is based on the idea of working together to create something that works, in my opinion. I'd like the thoughts of others who might want to give new ideas for rules and such.

RP rule number 22:

All Roleplays must have a Genre type in the first post, before anything else. There can be multiple types for one RP.

The different genres are:

Action/Adventure - Something such as the Naruto Predestiny series, Final Fantasy XX, Bleach, or any other RP that generally includes fighting and conflict as the basis of its story.

Comedy - Something made just for laughs, such as the anime "Azumanga Daioh". No real plotline is required. Best for beginners to start in.

Romance/Drama - Usually a high school kind of RP involving love and, well, drama.

Nobodies - The RPs that generally have no plotline and were made for basically a test to see how good the GM was at making one. Also good for beginners.

Horror - RPs that would usually end in everyone dieing. We've yet to have one of those yet.

Magic - Involves magic or supernatural creatures of some kind. Mahou Sensei Negima and Fate/Stay Night are good examples.

Mech - Involves robots, usually in some sort of armed combat. Zoids and Gundam are good examples.

Those are all the genres for now.

It's fine to double post.

1. There's no post count, so it won't affect how many posts you have overall for the entire forum.

2. DP only if you wish to keep an RP going, but nobody has posted since you made your post.

RP rule number 25:

A new RP genre is here. It's called Special.

The Special genre is about RP's that are made specifically for two or three people.


RP rule number 26:

All rps require a rating. This way we can't get complaints if someone goes into an rp and discovers it has blood and gore.

E - Of course, E is for Everyone. Nothing that you wouldn't show your kids
T - Teens from ages 13 to 17. May include blood, violence, adult language, and adult themes such as kissing, making out, romance.
M - Mature, meaning anyone who is at least the age of 15 can participate. Violence, blood, adult language, adult content, adult language, etc. The A.C. (such as sexual intercourse), should be kept to PM if it occurs.

There is no Adults Only. I trust everyone to keep to a zone they feel comfortable with. Kids, get your parents permission to enter T and M rated rp's...Or just ask me really nicely and call me something cool.
