Zoids: Grand Century

Organized under strict rules and regulations, Zoid battles are fighting competitions held on enormous battlefields, using massive, mechanical, animal-shaped combat units known as Zoids. Enthusiastic young warriors put their pride on the line and sharpen their skills against one another.

You are a Zoid pilot, or you will be. Start however you want.

Name: Artemis Daemon Rose Leon, or just Leon. If you're really gutsy and don't know him that well, call him Leo. If you have a deathwish, call him by his second middle name. I dare ya.

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Nationality: He's both Japanese and Romanian, but he grew up in France

W.R.N. (Warrior Registration Number): 935167

Zoid (if you have one yet): A new type of Liger Zero, capable of learning on its own. This model is called the Liger X

Team (if you're on one): The Zion Team, but he currently has no members.

Zoid's weapons: Strike Laser Claw, Energy Shield, Speed Booster, and Twin 50mm Vulcan sniper rifles. Oddly, the rifles are extremely light.

Personality: Calm and quiet, not the type to easily get in a fight. He's a nice guy once you get to know him. He loves the smell of cooking, as well as being able to relax after a tiresome battle. He finds fun in many things, and can be spontaneous sometimes. On the battlefield, he is a noble warrior, putting his Liger X between his allies and the enemy's line of fire.

Reason for being a pilot: He simply wanted to follow in the footsteps of his great great great grandfather. Five generations, plus Artemis, of Leon men piloted Zoids. And they all were gifted with innate and unique characteristics that often defined them as the leader. Artemis' other reason for being a pilot is that he did so to protect his mother from a group of bandit Zoid pilots.

Zoid (if you have one yet): (Rare) Red Blade Liger (Note that this is the same red blade liger that Leon finds in New Century Zero.)

Team (if you're on one): Planning to join the Zion team.

Zoid's weapons: Strike Laser Claw, Energy Shield, Speed Booster, Strike Laser Blade, and a Charged Particle Beam Cannon mounted on top. (The C.P.B.C. in no way affects its speed or manueverability.)

Personality: Head strong, sarcastic at times, mainly a Joker, and has a temper when made lightly of.

Reason for being a pilot: To be the Champion of the Royal Cup and make it into Class S.

Sasuke walks into the Hanger of Team Zion and sees a man about his age standing and working on a Liger. "Exscuse me is this where Team Zion meets. My Red Blade Liger and I would like to join the team.

Artemis blinked and turned to the stranger, wiping some oil from his hands on a rag as his Liger X roared with glee, happy to be a bit cleaner after the battle a few hours ago. Artemis smiled and gave a light laugh. "I could sure use the team mates. looks like you're the first." He smiled, then there was a gentle, feminine voice from a bit away. "Artemis, lunch is ready!"

Artemis' eyes lit up and he looked up at X, patting his paw lightly. "I'll see you in a few hours. I gotta clean myself off to, ya know." Artemis then turned to the stranger. "Name's Artemis Leon. Nice to meet you. You're welcome to stay for dinner if you want."

"Hurry up, dear! It's homemade beef ramen!"

Artemis turned and waved at the woman. "I'll be right there, Mother!"

"Thanks for the invite Leon. I dont get to eat homemade meals that often. Been living off the instant stuff for a while ya know." As the two head inside they talk a little more about their Zoids.

Leon didn't notice the man who infiltrated the hangar. He smiled as they entered the elevator and went up. When they reached their destination, Leon sat at the table, humming a bit. A few moments later, 3 bowls full of ramen were brought out on a tray, which was rolled by a woman with brown hair, green eyes, and pale skin. She smiled gently.

"Oh, dear, Artemis. I didn't know you were having a friend over. You should have told me." This gorgeous woman, Mina Amaranth, smiled tenderly at Sasuke as if she'd already accepted him as part of the family.

Artemis shook his head. "He's not a friend. He just asked to join the team."

Mina blinked and slowly nodded. She handed Sasuke a bowl and smiled again. "Please, have my husband's bowl. I'm sure it's something he'd have wanted me to do...Or pretty close to it." She smiled, gave a light giggle, and hummed a tune as she sat down. "Itadakimasu!"

"Itadakimasu." Artemis ate quietly.

Reason for being a pilot: The thrill of battle, the prestige of victory, and the rush of adrenaline that comes with a fight.

Personality: Joking and light-hearted, Alex tries not to take anything too seriously. Even in a Zoid match, he'll laugh, joke, and make cracks about the enemy Zoid(s). On rare instances Alex gets serious, he transforms into a dark, cynical pilot who will do anything to achieve his goal.

Outside, the sky was dark as a storm approached. Thunder and lightning flashed overhead, illuminating the metallic figure of a Shadow Fox. Inside, the pilot casually piloted the Zoid, walking across the ledge of a cliff. The item of his attention was a building at the bottom of the cliff; a Zoid Hanger.

"Shadow, do you have a fix on them?" The pilot spoke behind a black helmet, speaking into a mic inside the helmet. The Zoid growled it's reply, a visual translation appearing in front of his eyes.

"Hmm... They're not necessarily targets, in the strictest sense. More like rivals I'd like to weigh before proceeding. Are your systems all at optimal readiness." An affirmative growl answered him. "Good. We'll take our time. In the meantime, let's do a little more recon around the area."

The Shadow Fox turned and lumbered into the large forest, quickly disappearing in the heavy foliage.

Sasuke and Leon sat eating the Ramen that had been prepared for them. "This homemade ramen is good ma-am. So Leon have you already participated in some battles already?"

Artemis smiled. "Ha! So far, I've been in 20 sanctioned battles and 3 or 4 unsanctioned battles. We raised enough money to go on a trip to the Coliseum and nab some neat little gifts, such as this brand new base with a hangar section and a house section. X has been working so hard, I thought I'd give her a cleaning. After this, we're gonna go out for a run around the prairie." He sipped the soup and his eyes lit up. "OIISHIIIIII!!!!!!"
