Seifer was quiet, staring into the flames. He shivered, his memories coming back from his childhood. "...Oka-san..." He twitched and threw a kunai in the direction of a nearby log. The beetles on it scattered, scared of the random knife throwing.

He reached towards the fire, but pulled away, sighing. it was just a nightmare, nothing to be afraid of. he lay down, closed his eyes, and was sucked into the horror immediately.

Misuzu sat next to Seifer with a look of concern on her face. "Are you okay, Seifer-kun?" she lightly poking him awake.

Arturia stood near the entrance of the camp carefully scanning the treetops with a wary eye. A commotion behind her startled for a moment, then she relaxed as she realized it was Seifer and Misuzu, as usual.

Darkness was closing in.

"Why don't we hit the sack right now?" Arturia suggested.

"I'll take first watch."

Seifer jumped awake and grasped her. "Oka-san!" He shouted, not loud nough to wake the others...Quietly, he shivered, looking up at Misuzu. "I'm sorry." He let her go and turned away, staring into the fire. He shivered. The nightmare had stirred up something from within him.

Misuzu was shocked by his sudden outburst. She sat in the same spot and stared and Seifer's back for a few moments before she gained her voice back. "What's wrong?"

Slowly, he turned to her.

"10 years ago, when I was only 7 or 8...My mother perished in front of my eyes...I can't remember anything from after, but I awoke in the Fourth Hokage's home, with his wife looking after me. They taught me, trained me in the ways of the shinobi...Until the day I could avenge my mother. Everytime I look at her grave, that scene replays over and over in my head...I just...I just want to find somewhere I can call home...where I can see her beautiful face without having to look at you..."

He was referring to the way Misuzu looked 99% like his mother.

Arturia glanced back at yet another commotion...and realized it was Seifer, again. Exasperated she walked out among the woods to take a break. She found herself wondering about the Kyuubi, when she abruptly ran into Suzumiya's camp not quite far from her own.

Misuzu turned away. "I'm sorry" she said quietly. She sat in an awkward silence for what seemed to be an eternity to her. "S-so did you avenge her?"

Quietly, Seifer nodded. "Yes...But at the cost of something very dear to me..." He held a hand to his chest and closed his eyes. "I used a forbidden jutsu that butchered his body from the inside out. It came with the sacrifice of my heart..."

Misuzu gasped. "No heart?" she asked horified, "How can you be alive then?" she asked wondering if she wanted to know at all.

Suzumiya was sleeping under a big tree, in his little camp not far away from Okai and Asakura's camp. As Arturia came closer, Yagami woke up. He turned his head to her, asking "Is it nice to wake up a sleeping man?" Suzumiya smiled and stood up. He dusted off the sand from his coat and looked at Arturia. "So, what are you doing here?" Asked Yagami huskily.

Seifer sighed. "My heart was sealed and stopped, then removed from my body. It sorta makes me...Immortal, under certain conditions..."

"Gomen, however, I couldn't be alone in a camp with lovey dovey ninjas needing their privacy. If I don't leave they'll chase me out." They're bound to get it on sometime."

Suzumiya smiled. "You can stay in this little camp of mine for a while. It's better than walking around this forest alone. I'll make a small campfire fast." Nearby was a woodpile in a circular shape, which was used before for campfires. Suzumiya looked at it, and then closed his eyes. He used one of his fire jutsus, without a fingersign or shouting out the formula, because of his abilities. The woodpile started burning, and so the campfire was ready. "Sit down." Said Suzumiya with a warm voice.

Quietly, a shivering Seifer lay down on the ground, watching the night sky. "It's so nice out there..." He smiled up at it all, then sat up, his ears twitching. "Saruten!" His eyes turned a deep green and he looked around at Misuzu, glad to be able to see her now. In exchange for their eye technique, the Okai family was blind by nature. This was something no one else had ever known.
