Next Loki sprang toward Atlas.

"You may be able to negate Master's abilities, BUT YOU CAN'T STOP MY ZWEIHANDERS!!!"

With that Loki slashed a V into Atlas....

It didn't seem to do much however.

Atlas laughed at the pathetic attempt from Loki "Come now did you think an insignificate little fly like you could ever do any damage to me? you are all too weak now i will show you my true power oh Duo i think it's about time you killed these annoying pests don't you?"

Loki materialised a hydrogen bomb.

"Do you want this?"

Atlas made a second wave of his hand, and the gun poofed into smoke. He then looked at Jake and snapped his fingers. Jake's body sunk into the shadows, sealed there, unable to move. Atlas turned to Duo, his companions unable to fight back. he'd forgotten about Duo's greatest companion, Mat.

"Poor, poor boy...You were born a weapon, and from the very moment of your birth, you have lived as my eyes and ears."

"What are you talking about?"

"I am the one who suggested your creation. You are, in a way, my son."

"Bullshit!"

Atlas grinned. "I speak not lies, my child, but truth...Activate Program Dual."

Duo stood upright, his body rigid. "What the hell!?" He turned to face Loki, and brought his strings up, wrapping them around him tightly.

The moment the floor dropped from under them, Mat was running on pure adrenaline. He instantly knew who was to blame; Atlas. Without second thought, Mat rolled over behind a boulder and watched the scene unfold.

He watched Duo bring his strings up to cut Atlas to ribbons, then fall lifelessly to the floor. He watched Loki unleash a barrage of weaponry, yet Atlas still stood. He saw Jake get tossed like a rag-doll then sink into the shadows, held there.

Duo seemed frozen in place. However, when Atlas spoke, a change swept over Duo. "I speak not lies, my child, but truth...Activate Program Dual." Duo went rigid and suddenly spun around and wrapped Loki up with his strings.

Mat was torn for a moment. Sure, Loki was a little annoying, but even he deserved to live. Then there was Duo, something had happened to him, and he was being forced to fight against his will. Atlas.

Without second thought, more by instinct than anything, Mat flipped over a boulder and brought his heel down hard on the ground, blue and white flames roaring to life at the impact, blowing everyone against the wall, save Atlas, who merely appeared stunned at the sudden appearance of another Master.

"Loki, heat shield, NOW!" Mat bellowed with a rage fueled by his hatred. With a roar, Mat was engulfed in dark, azure flames that reached up the ceiling with ease. Years of contained rage rushed in torrents from Mat's body. Within seconds, the room was sweltering.

With another roar, one that mixed undying fury and deep, unending sorrow, Mat hurled a hand forward at Atlas and unleashed a wall of blue flame. Hoping to whatever God or Gods might exist, Mat prayed that somehow Duo was ok. "Sara!" Mat cried out, anguish beginning to lace his voice as his skin began to sweat under the intense strain.

"SARA!!!"

Loki threw up a heat shield, and without a second thought threw one over the rest of his companions including Mat, Duo, and Jake. Equipping himself with jet thrusters he detonated smoke grenades and seized each of the individual Masters and hauled them and himself out of the room, and outside where the bright sunshine was startling.

[Loki would be incapable of carrying Mat out due to the very intense heat, and a heat shield around Mat would be pointless, as the source of heat is coming from inside Mat.]

(A Heat Shield can negate it, and since its coming from Mat, then throwing a heat shield would trap the heat in there.)

[And boil Mat alive? You underestimate how much heat Mat is giving off and much little he can take using his powers to this extreme. Unless he stops soon, he'll collapse from exhaustion. With a heat shield around him, he'd probably burn himself to a crisp.]

(Well, all I did was to get us out so far...)

Outside there was a convenient lake which after Loki stripped the heat shields, tossed Mat head in and dove in after to make sure he didn't drown.

[Loki, we went over this last night. Mat is still inside the room with Atlas and Duo. I know your trying to move the plot forward, but you're doing so too fast. Let Avankiri respond first.

I appreciate you trying to help, but perhaps you should ask occasionally before doing any action with another character.]

Atlas merely watched as loki fled. "Weakling." he turned back to Duo, who turned on Mat. "Artemis Daemon Leonius Rose Amaranthius....Kill him."

Duo looked at Mat quietly, then moved forward. With quick movements, he captured Mat, and attempted to constrict him while he opened his mouth wider than ever before. "Mat...Accursed one, your life ends now..." He slowly dragged Mat towards his mouth, the strings tightening. The flame power of Mat was strong enough, however, to slow the strings.

Mat didn't struggle. Instead, he took a deep breath and let loose a dragon-style flame blast right into Avan's gaping mouth. He managed a good ten second blast before he took another breath, then threw out a leg and kicked Avan in the face.

"Sara, damnit! Stop him! SARA!!!"

Loki looked back as he carried a still petrified Jake back into safety. He thought about escaping, about running away from it all. Maybe then the madness would end...

He turned, hesitated, then thought of the moments Duo and Mat and Jake had all shared with him. With that, his sniper rifle from 3044 (bullets capable of traveling at nearly the speed of light somehow warping slightly the space time continuum.) appeared. Sweeping it up in one swift motion he fired two shots.

One toward Duo's mouth, one towards Atlas's head.

"I'm sorry........Duo."
