Mat watched with interest. He smiled, watching Sara dance, though he made sure his attention was passive and nothing that would upset Duo. He seemed to be at a relative peace for the moment, and Mat wasn't going to be the one to disturb it.

Rather, Mat grinned and dug around his pocket before he pulled out a pan flute and, after a moment, joined in playing with Duo. Mat had once had a harmonica, but he found the sounds of a pan flute to be far more satisfying. He played slowly, with long, airy notes spilling from his instrument.

It was a good night.

The next morning, Duo had retired to allow Sara to have her time out. She stretched and walked over to the other inn that the guys were staying at, then walked into the room without a care in the world. "Minna, ohayo gosaiimasu!"

Mat followed a few steps behind Sara, yawning occasionally. Sleeping on a roof could be peaceful, but man it usually left his back cramped, and last night was no exception. Rubbing the back of his head, Mat stepped up behind her and yawned widely before he rubbed one eye and repeated what Sara had said, only in another language. " Zao shang hao. Ugh... Really.... Early."

Sara sat at a nearby table and looked at her long red hair, scratching her chin thoughtfully.

Loki jerked awake as surely as someone slapped a naked blade on his behind. Jumping up, he equipped his thermal sensors and observed two figures downstairs, one was a female, the other a man in the shadows.

Putting caution ahead of him, he evoked dual snipers and precisely aimed the dot at each individual head. Sending a robot to investigate, he found it was Mat and Sara. Sighing, he went down.

"Ohayo minna."

Sara turned around, pulling her hair into a high ponytail. "Hey there!"

((By high, I mean the ones that stick up from the top and back of the head, like the kind in anime.))

Sara shrugged. "I dunno. I figured you guys would be making something."

Jake walked in from the back door and sat down in the corner with his feet up and head back a moment later the Tavernkeeper approached "did you have a nice night i heard alot of noise" Jake mearly grunted then said "Go see what they want for breakfest i'm not to hungry so nothing for me", The Tavernkeeper nodded then approached the group "Are you all ready to order?".

"100 pounds of roast pork with 200 pounds of fried rice. Eh, lets see, 400 pounds of fish filet and 300 pounds of eggs. Arigato. I'm starving." said Loki.

Mat eyed the woman for a moment before he made a dismissing gesture. "I doubt you have the kind of food I enjoy, and I doubt you could fix it properly."

"Ummm...I think I'll be fine. But Duo might want some."

"No, I'm also fine."

The bartender gave Sara a strange look. Sara smiled. "I'm not schizophrenic." She said.

"And neither am I." Replied Duo. The bartender merely looked at the woman like she was insane, then noticed her large breasts and forgot all about it. It's time like those that a hot body comes in handy.

Sara then looked at Mat. "What do you eat? Maybe I can fix something up for you?"

The Tavernkeeper nodded and walked back to the kitchen to get Loki's meal served then a moment later returns with the meal "Here you go enjoy" Jake watches from the distance and notices the tavernkeeper trying to see down Sara's top 'oh man this could be trouble' he thought to himself as the tavernkeeper began leaning over further.

Mat arched an eyebrow before shrugging. "If you believe you could make it, crab tempura, butajiru, steamed rice, and kasutera." Mat stopped and looked around for a moment before shrugging and slipping a cigarette between his lips, but not lighting it. "What? I have unorthodox tastes."

"Wow, I haven't met a kitchen that could fulfill my demands like this!"

Loki noticed too and decided something dramatic was in order. With a discreetness that could maybe have even impressed a shadow lurker, he dropped a remote sensing bomb that contained sulfur gas and poison ivy gelatin into the pant pocket of the tavern keeper with a cracked bottle of acid that slowly but steadily melted away the fabric. When all was set, Loki scurried out of the room, went upstairs and pressed detonation.
