The voice in Makoto's head told her to just set the stupid little jerk on fire and be over with it, which she came close to doing. It would have been fun to watch him dart around in circles, head aflame, and then shove him over the side and continue on without him. However, Makoto had learn to ignore that voice. It had gotten her into a lot of trouble when she was younger, and she didn't really see a reason to waste her energy. She just ignore him, making a note of his statement, and continue to concentrait on willing the wind to push them in the right direction, which she was doing rather well, dispite what some thought.

Seifer twitched his eyes and grabbed Cloud by his shoulder. "Hold thy tongue, friend. She's tired. She nearly died during Raine's attack. With all that's happened to us so far, she's probably still trying to comprehend it all. Have faith in her. She'll get us there, sooner or later."

He smiled softly at Makoto, then knelt and clasped his hands again in prayer. "Mighty Avan. Gentle Collete. Guard us well through these new lands, for we know not what horrors we may face..."

Seifer looked into the sky, where a ray of light pierced the clouds and lighted up the raft with a warm, golden glow.

Up above, the twins looked upon their young, fresh Paladin and his companions. A swordsman, a knife-mage, and an archer. One of the twins had golden hair and deep, sea blue eyes. He turned to his sister and held her close as he watched the travellers. What test to put before them next?

Makoto was thankful for Seifer, she was ready to burn Cloud alive. It was true, she was exausted, and was putting forth everything she had left. It was hard enough, but with his comments, she nearly forgot to keep focused. All the same, she knew they were moving, and she was accomplishing her task. That's all she could do, but in the meantime, she would enjoy the warm glow of the sun. It was helping to calm her just that little bit more.

They hit the beach near midday, and the sun hid behind the clouds. The sand was cool to the touch, and there seemed to be a path leading deep into the mountain of the island.

Cloud Ran onto the sand and quickly laid down. "finally im off the water and onto firm hard land, and that devil no longer controls my fate." He said while he sharply glared makato down. "Ah this feel great." He said as he looked up into the sky thinking back to his days as a child.

Seifer, however, saw no time to waste. They had two comrades missing, and he intended to find both of them, alive or dead. He trudged through the sand and onto the path without looking back, drawing his sword and cutting through a tangle of bushes.

Cloud lazily sat up. "Rushing won't help you find them Seifer, we don't even know this island. I understand your rush but you need to calm down and think things over i know your smarter then this. Rushing into unknown territory is almost certain death." Cloud said then laying back down into the sand

There was a light rustling under the sand. The rustling became a rumble. It turned to a deafening roar, as a creature appeared from beneath the shore. Its scaled body was about 3 times the size of a man, yet it had a petite body. The strange monster had 8 legs and a pair of pincers like a crab. It walked quietly along the beach in a frontward motion, then began climbing up the mountain side.

Seifer stopped and contemplated. Long walk or quick ride up the monster's back...He jumped high and grabbed the beast by its legs. It merely looked down and lifted him to its back, then turned and climbed back down to Makoto and Cloud, resting on the sand. It seemed to have a sort of gleeful purr to it as it lay on the shore, its blue, almost human eyes turned to the sun.

Makoto look rather surprised to see that the creature so easily allow them to ride it. She wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, that was for sure. She ran forward and lept atop it's back, standing tall near the front of the creature, arms crossed. She forgot all the stupid things Cloud had said, she really didn't care anymore. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful place. Not only that, but they wouldn't have to trek through the trees. That made it all the better.

The beast turned its head a bit to see who the new person was. Satisfied with its passenger quota so far, it grabbed Cloud gently in one of its mighty pincers and climbed back up the mountain. From a distance, the sound of a bustling city could be heard.

Cloud widely opened his eyes." A city? Does that mean food! i have been starving!" Then all of the sudden Cloud grasped his arm out of sharp pain, lifted up his sleeve and noticed the dragons scar on his right arm has spread through more of his arm." Dam it looks like i have used the dragon strike one too many times." He said right before passing out

(*note cloud eats about as much as goku. and he looks like my signature character)

Seifer grabbed Cloud before he could fall off the monster's back. They entered the city after hopping off at a gate outside it. Seifer looked around as the local people walked forward and helped the group inside. They all smiled. Their skin was dark, their eyes red. They spoke an entirely different language, but they seemed very hospitable.

Cloud slowly opened his eyes. "where are we?" then he yelled "ahh," as he once again grabbed his arm out of pain.

Seifer patted him on his shoulder and smiled. They were all sitting in a large room next to Riki. The man who had saved Riki raised a hand, pointing it at himself. "Me Amari. You in Valhalla, big village."
