The group tread softly through the darkness of the cavern, lead by Makoto's Blaze spell. The walls seemed drawn together, as if constricting the air of its oxygen, and all bout could be heard horrible screams of pain and torture.

Finally, the group came to a small door. They walked through it to find an altar with two short swords placed upon it. One had a black grip, and the other a white one.

Seifer outstretched a hand to halt the others, then prayed again. "Great Twins, light this room with the true light and reveal unto us the beasts hidden within."

The room glowed a little more. There were no monsters anywhere...

Makoto took a small step into the room, curious as to the lack of monsters jumping out at them. It wasn't often, in fact never, that that happened. Although she couldn't say that she was missing it. "Weird." She said softly walking a bit further into the room. She slowly turn to face the others. "This place is way to creepy for my liking.. You need to pick a place that has a name like... 'Peaceful Medows' or 'Happy Bunny Trail'" She joked, cracking a grin as she spoke.

Seifer smiled. "Sadly, there is a place on this map with the name 'Kiss My Ass'." He chuckled at his sarcasm.

Quietly, a small, impish creature appeared before them, twitching its eyes and lips, revealing crooked, jagged edged teeth. It growled and wobbled up to the blades, tapping them.

On both hilts, there appeared an eye, purest crimson in color. They looked upon the people before them and floated into the air. A fight was about to begin.

Before anything could happen Cloud quickly grabbed both hilts on the blades. but he could not manage to get them under control But he wasn't losing control either. It continued to be a stale mate between the weapons and the human." Why can't i get control!" he yelled

The blades twitched a bit, then a shockwave of raw power blasted Cloud back to the door. There appeared two shadowy, cloaked figures holding the blades. Each had on his face a porcelain mask, one with a smile, the other with a frown. Across the darkest of these figures' masks was printed the word "Chaos". The other mask wearer had the printed word "Order".

FIGHT!!!

The first figure moves slowly forward. It is then that both figures draw up lanterns with ghostly purple flames in them. The figures shriek and howl at the group.

The second figure stays behind, casting Blaze. The fires ignite on Makoto's new cloak, but it is immune to normal elemental attacks, so the flames dissipate, leaving the figure to shriek angreily and bounce around in place, swinging its lantern in annoyance. NO DAMAGE!!!

Seifer stands firm and draws his sword, folding two fingers upward. "O Holy Ones, cast thy purifying light upon these corrupt souls!" The clouds form again. "JUDGEMENT!" Beams of pure light strike through the clouds, causing 500 damage each to both figures.

Cloud finally catches back up to the group. He put both hands ogether and aimed it at the smiling beast. then said the words "lightning strike" as lightning flew at the beast.

The lightning bounced off. It had no effect on the Smiler. In fact, the Smiler seemed to have some sort of Reflect spell put on it. Lightning came down and shocked Seifer, who shrieked loudly and grumbled. "Son of a bitch!!!"

Seifer threw his sword down and brought up his shield, ramming into the Frowner full force The Frowner was knocked to the ground and Seifer peeled away its mask. The figure clawed at its face as light reflecting off Seifer's armor stained its face, burning holes into it. It shrieked loudly, then disappeared, melting into oblivion.

Its counterpart, seeing this, was turning to flee when Seifer stood. The light reflected off his armor, on the metal clasp of Makoto's cloak, across to the sword laying on the ground, and onto the Smiler. It shriked as well, then fell, crumpling to dust. Its porcelain mask remained. The smile and frown disappeared, looking more like masquerading masks now.

Seifer sighed and sheathed his sword. "May their souls rest in peace..."

The twin blades glowed darkly. They slowly floated to Cloud, circling him. Then, they set themselves in his hand, and all was dark.

A moment later, a blinding flash occured. The entire cavern lit up with torches, and a blue light struck through the cavern roof, piercing the sky.

When it disappeared, there stood Cloud, clad as Seifer was in armor. His was darker, though. Upon his head was a plumed hat of black. In each hand lay the blades, both glowing brightly. Having purified their owner, they had thus purified themselves.


Cloud's class has changed to Dragoon.

Cloud looked around at his new armor and weapons." Wow these swords are so much stronger and lighter. Next time we meet Raine it will be a completely different story."

The group then left the cavern. When the emerged, the land before them was much different. It was covered in green grass and trees. Birds nested in the branches, and squirrels and field mice ran about, chasing each other with glee.

Amari walked up to them, smiling. "It seems you've brought peace to a wartorn land...This place was the land of an ancient civilization, known as Sarmatia. They were a kingdom of warriors, stronger than any who lived. To ensure that legacy continued, their king, a master of alchemic recreation, forged the Yin & Yang swords you, Cloud, now carry. Sadly, the might of the swords was to great for any of the kingdom to wield. So the king cast a curse upon the weapons. He told all that, "Only one who is a direct descendant of the mighty kings who came before us, from the land of Alexandria, may wield these weapons without harm. All else who lay claim to them shall be swallowed into madness!"

Amari coughed lightly and went on. "It seems young Cloud here either had no idea of such a heritage, or he has deceived us...Lady Makoto, he is your companion...But if you wish my opinion, I'd dump him overboard and into the sea, swords and all."

Seifer cut in. "Makoto, listen not to Amari. Perhaps Cloud did not know of such lineage in his blood..." He turned to Cloud as if to say "Right?"

Cloud looked shocked."the direct decendent to the kings.Wow i can honestly say i knew nothing of this. I always wondered why i had so much mp and lightning aura but didn't think it really meant anything. hmm this changes so much."

Cloud has gained the title, Prince. As a Prince, he is recognized as a powerful noble and heir to a throne, and may now participate in the Collosus event to earn money, items, titles, or advancements for his team.

The group boarded the ship and left. Seifer chose their new destination; Silimar, Island of the Birds.

Day Late

Makoto felt a little awkward when Amari had spoken of Cloud as her Compainion. She certainly didn't see him that way, although she was happy that he'd come to find his lineage, it was still a little odd to her all the same. At which point she began to avoid him whilst on the ship, which mostly didn't seem all to difficult seeing as she could just hide out in her room. Which she was currently doing. After she had found out where they were going she quickly excused herself, saying that she had been through alot and felt rather tired. It wasn't true, but it let her be alone. She threw back her hood and flop down on the bed. "Sheesh... This world has gone loopy." She said absentmindedly to herself.
