The guard knelt and picked up the carcass. Then, the small group disappeared into the trees.

That night, Seifer, Makoto, Riki and Loki were called to the meeting hall. Hana sat quietly at a chair at the front of a long table. "It seems we have a problem." She tapped her nails on the table and pointed at the carcass before her. "One of you has killed an innocent being...A crime such as this bears the penalty of death..."

Seifer turned to Riki with a look of slight disgust in his eyes. He grabbed him by the ear and forced him to his knees. "Hana, truly, is there a punishment he can serve that is...less severe?"

Hana sighed and stood. "Lord Seifer, what do you propose?"

Seifer smiled. "Oh, I may have an idea..."

*30 minutes later*

Seifer looked down at Riki quietly. The punishment?...:

Riki was to carry over 500 bags of flour. Each bag weighed exactly 180 pounds. The worst part of the task was to carry 5 at once. "Until you can move all of these bags using only your own body, you are not allowed to do anything else. No hunting, no traveling. You may take one hour breaks every 5 hours, in which you will consume only the food given to you." He walked away, liking the Paladin's gentle but cruel way of punishment for one's sins.
