The Lord of the Rings: The Darkness Returns
The defeat of Morgoth and the rise of Sauron, his apprentice. The forging of the One Ring and the Battle of Mt. Doom that followed. Sauron's defeat and the Finding of the Ring of Power. The loss of the Ring and the finding of it again by Smeagol. The loss of the Ring again and the finding of it by Bilbo Baggins. The Journey to Rivendell and the forging of the Fellowship of the Ring. The journey to Mordor and the War of the Ring. The journey home and the Gray Havens...
All these events were only the beginning of something on a grander scale. Sauron was defeated at last. But nearly 1000 years later, someone has risen secretly, unbeknownst to the world, to challenge Middle Earth and become its eternal ruler. This is Morfit, the new Dark Lord. On his own, he has gathered trolls, Easterlings, Orcs, and he even has his own little band of 6 Elite warriors, much like the feared 9 Nazgul that served under Sauron. They are the more terrifying Basamo, which means Fear in Black Speech, the language of Mordor. Basamo are known by the other servants of Morfit as Death Wraiths, or Dark Riders.
Morfit has rebuilt the tower in secret. Everything he's done is in secret. Unlike Sauron, Morfit is more careful. He will not take the risk of falling before he is sure he's prepared. He is more cunning and evil than Sauron could have dreamed of being.
The rest of the world, oblivious to his plans, goes on happily as ever. Gondor has been rebuilt and has grown mighty again. The Shire has become even more beautiful since the war. Rivendell has lost Elrond, but Arwen has taken his place. The Misty Mountains have become a home for the Dwarves once more. Lothlorien has lost the great Galadriel, but a new leader has taken her place. Shilob has died and the Pass of Cirith Ungol is now safe for the beasts of Morfit. Minas Morgul, once home to the Nazgul, is now a haven for the Basamo. Rohan is peaceful once more. The Old Forest is now bursting with trees and Ents again, and Isengard, now cleansed, is a haven for the birds and some cavern dwelling beasts of good allignment.
The races, and their natural traits and affinities, are:
Man: The dominant race in Middle Earth, Men are tall in stature. They are easily corrupted, though, and may turn against their allies with relative ease for Morfit and his followers. Men are friends with the Elves, Dwarves, and even some Hobbits, but they get along best with Elves. Men are the best swordsman around, whether it be two-handed, one handed, one handed and shield, or one handed in each hand. Men also know how to use bows to a degree. They are known most of all for being fair and kind at heart, but their greed can sometimes get the better of them. They live in Gondor, Rohan, and some other parts of the world. Wizards fall under this race.
Elves: The 2nd dominant race in Middle Earth, all Elves are tall. They are nearly impossible to corrupt. Elves are friends with Men and some Hobbits, but they do not get along with Dwarves, usually. Elves are the world's best archers, said to be so good they can shoot a crow's eye from 100 yards away in the dark. They can also use long knives which are the size of a short sword. Their eyesight and hearing is sharply enhanced, making them great scouts. They are beautiful, gentle, elegant, graceful, and full of finesse. Elves are immortal unless killed in battle. Even those elves on the brink of 1000 years old can still move as if they were in a Man's prime. They can usually be found in Lothlorien, Mirkwood, or Rivendell.
Dwarves: Thought short in stature, they are not so in temper. They are hard to anger and can actually be very calm, despite what most Elves will tell you. Dwarves are experts with axes and blacksmithing. In fact, they are often prized for their weapons and armor. Dwarves are jewel-greedy by nature, but they would never go to the lengths of hurting someone for anything but good. Often times, Dwarves will congregate in their mountain homes just for fun. They like to party, and often invite both Men and Hobbit to join them. Dwarves are known most of all for being unliked by Elves, but they get along with Men and Hobbits. Dwarves live in the Misty Mountains, the Lonely Mountains, the Blue Mountains, and pretty much everywhere else that has Mountain in the name and isn't in Mordor. Dwarves are twice as hard as Men and half as hard as Elves to corrupt.
Hobbits: The most unknown of people, the Hobbits, otherwise known as Halflings or Shire-folk, are shorter even then the Elves. Not much is really known about them, accept that they live in the far North-West, in an area of fields and beautiful country-side known as the Shire. They are rarely ever seen by other races, and tend to live underground, away from all the hustle and bustle of the cities and the adventures other people take.....Unless you have Took blood in you, like Bilbo Baggins did when he took his adventure to the Lonely Mountain to defeat Smog, the Dragon. They are proficient in what Men and Elves would call daggers. Since Hobbits are so small, these daggers are like short or long swords to them, though they prefer their farms and cattle and family to war and adventure. Their gentle nature and welcoming hospitality allows them to get along excellently with any race except those who serve the Dark Lord. They are a little harder to corrupt than Men.

((You can't be 168 years old and be born 2 years after Sauron's defeat. He was defeated 1,000 years ago.))

Name: Ehoron Tehiel
Race: Men
Age: 29
Homeland: Minas Tirith, Gondor
D.o.B: 18th of Náríë, in the year 980 of the Fourth Age
Description: Ehoron is a figure that harkens back to the end days of the Third Age. His hair is shaggy, down to his shoulders, but clean. He has stubble extending down from his sideburns to his chin, the start of a beard. His clear, emerald green eyes shine with the energy of Men. He usually wears a simple leather tunic over a plain green linen shirt with brown pants and leather boots to match.
Personality: Ehoron is an honorable man. He possesses a natural affinity for leadership, as well as possessing a unique code of honor he adheres to. He tries to avoid letting anger get the best of him, viewing such powerful negative emotions as the road to unmaking. Instead, he prefers to work at his skills and with his men.
Bio: Born in Minas Tirith, Ehoron grew up studying the blade. While most boys boasted about how great of a Gondorian Knight they would be, Ehoron stood on the city walls and gazed outwards, dreaming of the lands behind the city. So when he turned eighteen, Ehoron was given a short steel sword, a chainmail shirt, and some extra money and released with the blessings of his parents.
Spending the next ten years exploring the world, discovering new places, meeting new friends and making new enemies, Ehoron returned to Minas Tirith as a powerful Ranger, skilled in combat and tracking. The same boys who boasted of their greatness fell in awe of his presence. They had never seen beyond the walls of the city. He had been to the tops of the feared mountains and stared down into the ruins of Mordor. Yet, some knowledge Ehoron kept to himself. For with his own eyes, he saw that which no Man, Elf, Dwarf, or Hobbit would want to hear. Mordor was no longer in ruins. Some great evil was stirring. He would make sure he was prepared, as well as the city, and with all hope, the rest of Middle-Earth.

Name: Kanaria, daughter of Thorin
Race: Man
Age: 19
Homeland: Rohan
D.o.B.: February 14
Personality: Polite, gentle, and very quiet for she is extremely shy. She gets embarrassed easily and you can always tell when she's angry for she has trouble hiding what she feels
Bio: Since her father was a blacksmith, he taught Kanaria how to use various weapons when she was younger. She carries around twin daggers with her wherever she goes because her father has made her paranoid of the danger that is lurking everywhere.

((Ok, we can start now.))
Upon a giant(and by this, I just mean rather big, not Mumakil big) horse strode the man. His eyes scanned the fields of Rohan as he wondered into its capitol, Edoras. He smiled at the town's women and bowed his head gracefully. "Good evening, ladies." He spoke gently as he stepped off his mighty horse, whom he had named Fenrir. He pat her on the back and smiled, rubbing down her neck as she went off on her own to sleep. They had traveled for days, and both were tired. The man went into the main building atop the stairs, bowing to the guards as he did so.
"I'm here under orders from High King Elonime and High Queen Pirathin. I must speak with the king here...It's urgent."

One of the guards gave the man a critical stare as if sizing him up and signaled one of the women to come over. "Take him to the king," the guard said curtly. "Alright" she said.
She focused her attention on the man. "This way please" she said shyly.

The man followed. When they reached the throne, he bowed lightly. "Hail Parener, son of Larasen, King of the horse country of Rohan." He lifted his head. "I bring a message from Gondor. Osgiliath is threatened by rampant orc and goblin forces. They number in the thousands, and hardly seem to budge should we go on the offensive. Their tactics. are incredible..."
Parener stood. "Whom might you be, good sir?"
The man stood and bowed his head. "I am Avankiri, son of Inkar of Gondor and Lemeri of Lothlorien. I am both Elf and Man blood. I am a simple messenger of the king of Gondor. That is all."
Parener nodded quietly. "I see...I will draw my forces in and see what assistance we can help."
Avankiri nodded and bowed his head. "As you wish, my lord." He turned and began to leave.

She girl jumped away from the door as she heard the man approaching. Yes, she had been eavesdropping. It wasn't in her nature, but her curiosity got the best of her. She hid around the corner and tried to act casual.

Avankiri stopped outside the door and looked around. The gentle breeze. The flat, serene plains. The tranquil mountains...All of this looked so beautiful in the springtime. But, he had a job to do. Avan left Edoras as quickly as he'd come, riding off for Gondor.
In the tower of Minas Morgul, which certainly looked empty to normal people, Enris sat quietly upon his throne. A dark smiled formed on his hooded face. "It has begun...Master..."
Before him stood his lord and master, the ultimate embodiment of hatred, power, death, and deception, Morfit, the new Dark Lord.

The sun pierced the veil of gray clouds that stretched over the sky, slowly illuminating the great city of Minas Tirith. A city of wonders, the most impressive built by any Man. Though some parts of the city were old, well over a thousand years in age, the city shone with a pristine white gleam.
At the fourth gate, Ehoron strolled through the crowds, barely aware of their existence. On his back he carried a quiver of arrows with an elegantly crafted Elven short bow slung over one shoulder. At his side, he carried a long leaf blade he had dubbed Areleh. He had a number of knives, long, short, and throwing, placed all over himself. Yet for all his equipment, he made almost no sound.
At the gate, two guards were standing, talking about something when Ehoron came into view. When the Ranger came into view, the two stopped speaking and glared at him. Some childish things weren't left to fade with childhood.
"What do you want?" One of the guards demanded, a touch of scorn in his voice.
"Duty requires me to see the king and speak with him, but you would know all about duty, wouldn't you Lahn?" The words flew from Ehoron's tongue almost faster than he could've fired a bow. Their effect was almost the same. The man stumbled back as is struck before he drew his blade, snarling.
"I'll cut you in two."
The second knight possessed a much more level head and quickly moved over and forced the man to lower his blade. "Peace, Lahn. Killing a man who bears news for the King is not a wise course of action." The first man scowled before he sheathed his blade and walked back to his post. "Forgive Lahn. You know how much of a temper he has."
"One would hope he would have gotten control over it. Peace favor you, Farin."
"And peace favor you, Ehoron."
As the gates swung open and Ehoron continued his path up to the King, he muttered in a voice so softly, only he heard himself.
"If only peace would favor any of us..."

Avan stood before Elonime and bowed his head. "My lord. The Rohirim have promised to draw their forces into their own country. They will send some to us if they have enough to spare aid."
Elonime smiled gently. "Good work, Man-friend, Avankiri, son of Inkar." He stepped from his throne and pat Avan on the shoulder, then turned to face the doors. Two guards opened them and allowed Ehoron inside. "Welcome, Ehoron, son of Methoris. What news do you bring from outside our borders?"
Avan turned. Ehoron, huh? The young boy was now a fine young man, grown as tall as most Men. Avan smiled lightly and bowed his head in respect. Once, when he had lived in Gondor, Avan had taught the young Ehoron the cultures and battle tactics of Lothlorien. He taught him the ways of the Elven bow, and allowed Ehoron to, at one time, use Avan's own bow on a boar hunt.
Avan's mind returned to the present, and he walked over. "Ehoron, my young lad! It seems even time doesn't touch your face. Let us harken to thy tales, lad."

Ehoron turned to face his one time mentor, Avankiri, and a smile broke out on his face. The man had helped prepare him for the rigors of the outside world.
"Ehoron, my young lad! It seems even time doesn't touch your face. Let us harken to thy tales, lad."
The man smiled, stroking the beard that was beginning to form on his face. True, it was more stubble than a beard, but within a few months, he would have a respectable beard. Still, he was definitely older and mature.
"Perhaps later, my friend. I fear I have dire news that threatens all we know and love. It seems peace is never something that stays with us, no matter how accustomed we grow to her presence."
Take a few strides past Avankiri, Ehoron knelt before the king, kissing his first two fingers and placing them on the floor in front of him. "My lord, while I would love to discuss the happenings of Middle-Earth, I am afraid I bring news most dire. News that threatens to shake and shatter Middle-Earth."

((I never finished that. It bored me. So no, it doesn't. This is a completely new story.))
Elonime blinked. "Young lad, what threat is this that you speak of with such urgency?"
