ahh, but you're talking to GoldenWolf here, currently my # of watched anime is over 700 =) used to be VERY bored so I spent every bit of free time watching anime, hell I even saw Akane Maniax, Aizu Pure, and even Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora (which is AWESOME might I add)
I've seen so much that I'm an extremely harsh rater now, I gave Elfen Lied a 7.4 *whistles innocently* btw I loved it, but quite a bit of it was recycled

well...the feedback is really good and people seem to love the idea, so I just need to get a hold of most of the staff (ones I have access to on MSN: med, yak, myishi, gohan, sophie, and furrie)

its sort of interesting...but sort of pointless...

its obvious all the popular ones will win regardless of how good it is or not.

for example:

(choosing random ass'd animes)

bleach and asdf

asdf is way better than bleach, but no one knows about it.
bleach is ok, but alot of people know it, so they vote for it.

in the end, things like these are about popularity....

its a good idea and all, but i think this just makes the popular annimes, more popular :/

in my opinion, you'd have to see every single damn anime there is to vote...

but no one has done that, so w/e

PS: it doesnt matter is one person saw alot of anime, in the end, its only going to be 1 damn vote...

PPS to Goldenwolf: ya, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora was FUCKING AWESOME!!! the OP song always gives me goosebumps. Didnt know anyone knew about it

I think it will work out alright cause the community here watch alot of less popular animes meaning they arent "tools of the media" XD

ooh trust me, I'll keep Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Death Note, and Elfen Lied in their own areas

Imma prolly make another topic in it "Best Popular Anime" well prolly 2 of them, I'll have one thing for Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece to battle things out and then "Best 2ndary Popular Anime" for like Death Note, Code Geass, Elfen Lied, etc

most people probably think One Piece won't stand a ghost of a chance against Naruto/Bleach, but actually One Piece fans tend not to post much unless something big comes up or they have to, One Piece fans actually flame worse then Bleachafobes do XD

Oh, I would love to see these battles Oo I would be a diehard FSN and Spice and Wolf fan if that ever came up too....

This is all based on opinion so you must get some hard core facts from sites like that anime site that has all your animes on it like animelist.com or whatever it's called. Poptart's sig has it.

On that website there is a huge fan-based voting thing that shows the popularity of animes. Just check there which is number 1 etc...and base how the awards should be given instead of what "YOU" individually "think" of an anime.

Since you watched over 700 animes I respect you for that but since you grade harshly that might effect the awards given properly.

I think you misunderstood. He's saying he will do his best to not be biased. So that the awards are more fair. Anyways, there are plenty of people that rate stupidly for stupid reasons on myanimelist. And the ratings and popularity of a show on myanimelist are different. One is from the actual 'votes' as you called them.. and one is from x show being watched y times.
Lastly, the awards will be given based on the opinions of the people here at zomg, not GW's opinion alone, nor whatever show is ranked as #1 on myanimelist.
