That, and if there's a large amount of time, you wont have to worry about people skipping out on the mag, since there's time to be replaced.
One last point to make I remember earlier when you limited the amount of people who could sign up. If you leave it open there will be alot more entries to go through, yes, but there's better chances that there will be really good revues mixed into the bunch, and it's not like you have to use them all.
Heck, even for the ones that didn't make it, you can just put them on zomganime as the description for the series, that way everything is useful, you'll get more readers because more people will be active in it, and you could even send them out faster. The layout for the mag could be done at any time, its the same as editing a manga scan. Erase the words and add what you want, well, we could make a couple of different layouts that we like and fill in the rest.
I'm glad I went on holiday now as I couldn't have waited an entire week for the magazine to be released lol
