Which protection?

Which virus scan and adware/spyware protection do you guys use
currently im using mcafee.....
i think its decent though many ppl don't like it

I use none. My computer has been clean since I built it.

AVG > Norton and Mcafee

For the best virus protection I would have to say Trojan. XD

I have AVG 7.5 (because 8.0 sucks balls), Spybot- Search & Destroy, and Windows Defender.

I HATE Norton! It's good at keeping your computer clean, BUT it's considered a spyware by other anti-spyware programs. And it really slows down your computer.

Silver shoudn't you move this to tech forum?

i dunno i use norton and vista is inherently slow so i dunno

It's funny because I always heard about it being considered spyware. My dad got it, and I got mad at him for paying for it. Well we needed to disable it for a minutes on his computer for something, but it kept giving us "Access Denied" which is like WTF because he's admin of the computer.

And my friend's wouldn't even let him uninstall it. It would say "this is extremely not recommended" and then it would say "Critical Error- Closing down uninstaller"

well i use Nod32 its the best antivirus out there and i recommend it to everyone, its light and its good against viruses and spywares !

^ (Hobo's comment) Epic fail ^^ Well for my PC i use AVG, Hitman 2 (or sum) und Comodo Firewall (+ the normal for Windows Computers)
Works fine but my PC Is still fucked up and my bro won't fix it

I've been switching between NOD32 and Avast!, but I decided I'm more comfortable with Avast.

I've been using Kaspersky Internet Security and Ad-Aware 2007 for awhile now, and aside from the occasion conflict between the two, they seem to work great.

I use Mcaffe because my dad downloads it to the computer. I think its pretyy good never tried the others though.

Well Norton is considered a spyware because it's made by Microsoft, and you know those rumours/truths? about Bill Gates spying, hacking, etc etc.

I used AVG 7.5 a while, which was quite effective but i'm using Avast! now, which is also good X) Also Ad-aware and Spybot and CCleaner.. though CCleaner isn't a protection so well..

When I had my Vista laptop, I used AVG antivirus (free version), Spywareblaster, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware. Many of the apps may not have been necessary. I had the computer for a year and never had an infection of any kind ... Well, at least not one that could be detected by the programs.

Right now I have a Macbook so I just have Clamxav which I use to scan things I might download from the internet. That's it.
