Direct Downloads vs. Torrent Downloading

In your opinion, tell us what you think is better and then explain why.

Imo I like torrents because the speed is usually faster than that of direct downloading after I forwarded my ports correctly. But direct is more reliable in the area of availability, torrents need peers and for some (when I was using Bitcomet) there were no other seeds/peers.

Edit: For myself torrents are faster but for others this may not be true

It depends what I want to downloads. I prefer torrents though. Most smaller things (As in, one anime show), I'm fine Direct Downloading. However, depending on the show, torrenting can be MUCH faster.

Torrent.

It dl's faster for me, since I'm limited by the host's bandwidth limitations. If direct downloads cap me at like 250-500kbps or lower I get pissed.

With torrents, I can usually get my full 900+kbps, provided that there are seeds.

im sorry, but this topic/first post is incorrect.

it depends where u direct download from. if you are downloading from a dedicated server where very few people get access too, you always reach you max connection on it since its not capped.

therefore direct download is always better than torrent unless ur being capped on ddlings...

hmmm...for small files (like epsiodes and else) i choose direct download
but for the big files (like DBZ 27,5GB) or music i choose torrent

I like direct downloads, megaupload might not be the best example but it's really consistant (and fast). My worlds end torrent got stuck at 90% and speed dropped to snails pace.

I prefer torrents, because it's much easier to download multiple files. I have a slow computer, so it's conveniant for me to download a ton of stuff overnight through torrents.

i just use whatever is offered. im capped at 300kbs soooo its the same for me either torrenting or direct dling

torrents for me, much faster speeds and easier to download multiple things at once as they dont take up window tab spaces

Direct Downloads are more reliable. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Torrents are only faster if they have a lot of seeder and peers on a good tracker. Otherwise it's really slow.

Direct Downloads almost always give you your maximum download speed. Even though some torrents, like Naruto on a release day, can go nearly twice your direct speed, most torrents don't have enough seeders to do this.

That's not exactly true. My absolute max direct download speed on an uncapped server is around 525 KB/s. I can download the latest Naruto at around 850 kB/s via torrent. But there aren't that many torrens that have as much seeders/leechers as Naruto has, so they aren't all that fast.

hmmm..the most ddl´s here are around 80 kb...even if i can go around 600-700 kb

i would like if all my ddl`s were that fast, but that were only 4-5 i ever found...the rest is so slow here

You seem to have overlooked the fact that some providers cap their speeds.
