Use a "regular high end" PC if you want to game a lot, lol..
I mean, MACs are alright, they're just compatible with.. nothing? lol?
Personally, I don't think the user interface is really that better, either. Up to you, in the end Popa. I built myself a computer off Newegg, and I'm very happy with it. Guess I've just never been much of a MAC person, though.
If you like gaming you should probably go with a PC. But it's also possible to buy a Mac and BootCamp over to Windows Also Mac's are cost a bit more than PC's so if you want a (kinda) cheap gaming computer, maybe a PC would go for you.
Seriously get a PC, I'll help you pick out some parts if you want to build your own, which is strongly recommended. You waste alot of money if you buy a pre-built from a place like Dell.
^very true. Plus companies like Dell can be proprietary, which means they purposely make products that only can be used with products of that company(for example towers that are oddly shaped). I would use tigerdirect.com and you can choose from a number of different parts, full comps, or bare bones kits.

Pick the Mac over a high end PC if you want an inferior machine that looks cute. You'll be able to cult of Mac users who think themselves superior to other computer users.
What kind of Mac are you thinking of getting? If it's a Mac Pro, I'd say go for it. You'll be out a hell of a lot of money. If you don't have the money to spend, and you care more about functionality than looks, save yourself some money and buy a high end PC.
and if i were to get a pc... ill preferably install linux or something...
about building pcs. hobo heheh
me and my friend were thinking of that....but i don't think i have the time.
If you decide to go Mac because of the OS, you could install Leopard on a PC, but I'm sure it's buggy. If you don't have the time to fool around with trying to get everything to work on it, there wouldn't be any point. I know that Psystar sells PCs with Leopard installed, and you can configure the computer and the operating system to your liking. But I'm sure there are problems running Mac OSX on non-Apple hardware.
Still, if you want a Mac after considering everything, that's completely your choice to make and everyone should respect that. If you ever need to run anything with Windows, you could do it through Boot Camp or a virtual machine. On my Macbook, I have Windows XP Pro running through VMware Fusion, courtesy of Pirate Bay. I need to use Windows to transfer the voice files to my computer from my voice recorder that I use to record my professors' lectures, and the program that comes with the recorder to do that runs only on Windows.
"regular" high end computer would be your best choice.
Apple/Mac is overpriced ish that doesn't deserve all the compliments it receives. Sure, it's a good platform for some... but the program/software incompatibilities makes it suck.
If you have the skills, I recommend building your own computer, as it can save you over $2000 on a high-end computer. When I built mine, it totaled around $1400. A comparable Dell XPS top-of-the-line system cost well over $3000.
